    Criminal Justice Major- Question/advice?

    ok guys,

I'm just looking for some advice about a decision im going to make in college. Heres the situation:

Im currently listed as a sophmore major in Finance. Im doing very well holding my G.P.A high, however im not interested in the business concentration field. My interests surround the law enforcement field and the Albany Criminal Justice School here at the University at Albany (New York) is top 2 in the nation. I was talking to a lot of state troopers and family members and they said that Albany is the place to be w/ the police academy being next to campus here.

One question I wanted to know was how good it would look to have a B.A in Criminal justice from Albany getting into the fields such as FBI, U.S. Marshall, and State Police. How are the chances of admission different compared to other applicants w/ out the B.A. degree. Are there chances of no placement in the well paid areas of law enforcement upon my graduation from school.

My second question is I like to work a set amount of hours and im the type of person that could work long hours. I'd eventually like to open up a business in the swimming pool industry. The bottom line is i'd be happier w/ a job in the law enforcement field w/ my own business rather then being in the corporate business world. Could any one provide advice on the direction to take?

any reply's w/ advice would be appreciated thanks for taking the time to read this

you know you are on a board that talks in ***th about the illegal use of anabolics dont you?
that being said--law enforcement is a good career that has advantages and disadvantages
for the most part they are paid well and have great retirements--its a secure position that they will always need people to fill
it can be scarry going up to a cars window and not know if you will be shot--also they do alot of shift work --could be 2 12 hour days one week then 5 12 hour days the next or it could be 4 days on 4 days off usually working 12s--the problem is as you get older and have a family you may miss lots of things due to work--ball games ,holidays, christmas morning ect.
either way good luck in your decision

whats sad is alot of police I know that have trained in the gym have been on aas--but nowadays juice is looked on worse than meth or cocaine
you have people running for president who admit to have messed with mind altering drugs (dont push that glowing red button mr president--yes I know its pretty but dont) but baseball players like Bonds are the most hated people on earth because they wanted to better themselves by shooting test
    crazy aint it
