Drug Use In The Tour De France
My brother is a former competitive mountain biker and has always followed cycling in general. He and I were talking about Floyd Landis and he told me that it is common knowledge that riders use testosterone patches after each race to aid in recovery for the next days race.
He is telling me that they adhere the patches right to their scrotums.
Now, I understand using test for recovery and I understand that transdermal test patches work fairly well, but I question the part about adhering to the scrotum. It just does not make sense to me.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Maybe it is just cause it would be one of the last places some one would look?

I'm not sure about scrotum patches. But I know a lot of riders in Europe use Actovegin.

Wait just a second. Are you suggesting that there is drug use in professional cycling?

It wouldn't really matter where you place the patch. I have used them before and as long is it is on the skin it is going to enter the blood stream. And as far as pro cycling goes, I am huge fan, but my passion for the sport is quickly dwindling becuase the sport basically has one foot in the grave and the other one on a banana peel.
