LMAO. But wait, the *WHOLE* movie is subtitles?

Or just random parts? I hate movies that are all subtitles, that movie "Maria Full of Grace" I couldnt finish, and it was only parts... that will really suck big monkey ass.

Yes its all in subtitles but it was deliberatley made that way i.e. when they were shooting it they knew it was going to be subtitled so it is done in such a way that you don't seem to have the problem of finding yourself wading through a pile of text on screen right when something amazing also needs to be watched rather than it being a foreign language film that has been subtitled afterwards and you seem to keep missing the action.

it is all subtitled, but for some reason when your watching, it flows.
    seems normal.

that is a very american thing to say... watching a movie about an ancient race or any race that uses a foreign langauge, speaking english or any langauge that is not theirs is just asinine

Saw this last night, wickedly awesome movie. The subtitles suit the movie. It wouldn't make sense if it were in english.

It was a good story. The Christian stuff kind of annoyed me, and the subtext was too Eurocentric/pro-christian for me to really say it was a "great" movie.

    Christian Stuff.

The movie begins with a quote saying that no nation is ever conquered externally without first conquering itself from within beforehand. Then we're exposed to the cruelty of that culture, and their disregard for human life, and at the end the Conquistadors (christian conquerors) show up, and we all know what happened after that.

See? The culture was morally/culturally bankrupt, and then the Christians came at the end and (later, not in the movie) conquored them, and the moral is "Well, they got their entire culture defeated and their society raped, but they weren't too great at that point anyway".

    Christian stuff.

The movie begins and ends with the comment on a society/nation being defeated, and the people who did that in this movie were the christians. What did you think that quote at the beginning, and the Christians showing up at the end meant? It was justification for the genocide of a culture by Christians.

    You didn't see that?
