Diddy/P. Diddy/Sean Combs/Puffy, etc.. is a good businessman, but a HORRIBLE rapper/lyricist.
50cent- I never got into the fan craze type shit with him. I think he's fake. Fact- after he got shot all those times he didn't do shit about it. He got one of his friends to take care of it for him. Later, that friend went to jail(unrelated matter) and needed money to post bail. This was around the time that 50 was blowin up, and 50 didn't help him at all, didn't give him a dime. I've never liked the dude.
Eminem- I don't listen to him, but he is a good lyricist.

Ross- FAKE, but he has BEATS. Every one of his songs have a good beat. A friend of mine went to work in Miami for a couple of months not too long ago and met a bunch of local rappers that said Rick Ross was the fakest around.
Wayne- HOT son. I have every one of his mixtapes. Crazy lyrics, "Dear Mr. Toilet, I'm the shit..." On top of the rap game right now IMO.
Kanye- not really my style, but he's a good lyricist.
R&B isn't really my scene either, but Lupe is good and I always liked NERD. Pharell(The Neptunes) have got some wild beats.
305- You gotta check out Brisco and Flo-Rida bro. Of course Trick Daddy.
You heard "I'm from Dade County" or "I'm So Hood"?

Oh man we got a lot of what I like to call POP rap fans. POP rap would include - 50, g-unit, new jay-z, eminem (anything after the eminem show), lupe, lil wayne, wheezy, i can go for days!!!
Im more of a battle rap kind of guy. not actual battle raps but more metaphors and punch line rapping. or as most people like to call it UNDERGROUND. which is where the real rap is at. I hate rap that talks about chains and BS, rap before platnium (ice age) was so good, now its all "look at my rims and look at this chain that spins" blah blah blah.

Remember in like the mid 90's it was easy to choose who you listened to, either you liked Jr. Mafia, or Death Row
Now there are new rappers every 15mins

Shoot, I was gonna name my go-to list, but K. Biz pretty much covered them all.
Right now I've got a timeless mix of hip hop albums sitting in my car:
GZA- Liquid Swords
Wu- 36 Chambers
Common Sense- Ressurection
Talib- Reflection Eternal
Zion I- Mind over Matter
Meth- Tical
Mos- Black on both sides
Blackstar
Nas- Illmatic
I love my classics.

lil wayne, jeezy, and B.G. have got to be on top of my play list. Jeezy's snow man album is great to train to. I also like lil boosie and webbie as well as UGK. I'm a southern boy, BTW.

Okay, here's who I listen to. I'll try to keep it short.
Lil Wayne- Top of the rap game right now, IMO.
Jeezy/USDA/Slick Pulla/Blood Raw- Jeezy's as real as they get. He's got a ton of street cred.
Project Pat/3 6 Mafia/Crunchy Black- Been listening to them since their old albums.
Jody Breeze/Gorilla Zoe/Big Gee/Big Duke- Good shit. Some real hard beats and Zoe and Big Gee have got some crazy vocals.
TI- He has made so many hits. Every one of his albums has been sick.
Big Kuntry/Young Dro- Dro's got good vocals, but his album was garbage. Big Kuntry hasn't dropped yet, but I'm betting it's gonna be a fire album. He's already way hyped and every song of his on the mixtape scene is blowin up.
BG/Juvenile/C-Murder- Always been a fan of both of these guys, even though Juvie isn't doin much. BG's had some good snippets on mixtapes lately. C-Murder is makin a comeback too, his album from jail was ill.
Brisco/FloRida- "Birthday": check that song out by FloRida. Brisco had a nasty mixtape not too long ago.
Plies- Ill. Can't wait for his album to drop. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
Al Gator- unsigned, but he has mad potential. His last mixtape was great.
Willie the Kid- Just started listening to some his stuff and it's good so far.
Of course some classics:
2pac
Eightball & MJG
UGK
Snoop/Dre
NWA
etc...
That's all I can think of off of the top of my head.
