    Air Force Security Forces!!!

Okay, I know I keep posting stuff but tomorrow I get to choose what job I want in the Air Force and a couple have interested me... The other being SERE and dietician fields... Now I was wondering if anyone knows much about this career field? I've done some searching but haven't really come across what a typical day would be for them... Also if any of you heard if it's enjoyable or any other stuff that would be helpful in me deciding if I'd like this career..

I went temporary duty with some AF security forces dudes once. They said it was like this. When at home base, you are the base police (badge and gun). You bust people for DUI and stuff like that. When deployed you are like a grunt convoy duty and stuff like that. They said that they were gone from home allot and if they could pick jobs all over again they would go intel.

Hope that helps, sorry I could not give you first hand info.

They are fvcking retartded. They think they are hot shit, but in reality they are just a bunch of grabasstic pieces of shit. I had to deploy several times with them. They get all this cool gear, but have no idea how to use it. When I was in Iraq, I went into the laundry tent, and one of the SF guys left his M-249 SAW on the table. He just forgot about it!! So I took it and turned it into our armorer. Also we ran some drills for the base being attacked, and the Marines were all the way on the other side of the base, and we still made it to the attack point before they did. And when they did show up, all there gear was fvcked up, one guy forgot his flak jacket and kevlar helmet. If I were to pick a job in the Chair Force, I would go Air Crew on C-17's, C-5's, KC-10's, or KC-135's. Preferably KC-10's.

agreed, and thats what most people do. if you want to be a cop after the military definatly do not choose security forces, most police departments will not hire you

The only thing cool about Security Forces is the OSI. If you don't go into that then they have special units to escort diplomats, presidents, etc. and that could be neat

SF deploy more often than regular jobs. Personally, it would be boring checking ID's all day or driving around base. Couple guys I worked with augmenteed as SF and had to work shitty hours (nights and only got off tuesdays and wednesdays). If I was to ever go active duty, I would probably attempt to go CCT, pilot, or maybe pararescue. IMO, most jobs in the air force are boring.

agreed most are boring but you get the occasional few that are pretty cool, aireal gunner, SERE, PJ, combat controller, TACP, EOD

and by the way if you are active duty you cant be a pilot, you have to be an officer
