Effff world gym...
So today i got to sign up at a new gym. the gym i was going to before was far away ...ate up alot of time in my day not to mention gas money.
So there is worlds gym about 2-3 miles from my house.
Walked in.. had a good deal going on . I pay 20 a month.. i get to bring a guest with me everytime i go if i want for free . So im like hell yea...now my gf can go.
So im excited about that because she is broke and really likes/wants to workout
So im doing chest today.
I always start with incline. So i take the 10's off that are on it from the previous person.
Grab a 45..which i had to go to the other side of the gym to get..
Do my warm up etc.
Then looking for another set of plates..no where to be seen again. So looking for more.
Then I finish my incline barbell bench and then go to dumbell incline. (hitting the upper chest hard lately)
Well the heaviest weight i could find in front of me was 60's so i grab those and do a quick light set.
Then im lookign for the 90's 100's 110's etc. No where to be seen.. The label is there for them..so im scratchin my head.
So i see the owner...(older man... prolly a pervert) I go up and ask "so where is all the heavy dumbells" He says " we got rid of them..we just go up to 60's now"
I say.. kinda quiet yet enough so he could hear me " are you ****in kiddin me" and walk away.. He shouts.. "what did you say" I just answer back "NOTHING!!!"
so i go back to the chest area and figure out what im gonna do next. Find a cable machine...then the front desk kid runs up to me.. "hey brent can you come here a second? "
So im like "Sure" (thinking...here we go..)
Get up to the desk where the owner is.. hes all like " so you signed up today?" im like "YUP SURE DID!"
he talks to the front desk kid.. "give this guy his money back and get him outta here"
So i get kicked outta world gym ..refunded my money.. NEVER AGAIN to a mainstream gym..
who the **** uses 60 # dumbells..?
Ok end rant.

I used world gym, then it got taken over by some franchise gym. Now it is crowded as hell. And they only go up to 100 lb dumb bells.

There used to be a Golds here where I live, not long after I joined it changed to Premier Fitness. They dropped the heavy weights, brought in a bunch of big plants and stuff and it almost turned into a singles bar overnight. I started on my home gym and when I got it set up I never went back.

Alot do it for insurance reasons. dont blame them blame people who sue for everything.
Real adult Drop f=bombs at the owner because they didnt have what you wanted. You should have checked the gym out before you signed. Also you get what you pay for $20 a month and get to bring a guest every time.

well just wait when all these "*****" gyms control the population and all the money. put your "real" gym out of business. So you are forced to join the ***** gym.
Then lets see who is pissed about 60 lb dumbells.
Think about logic for a second and maybe the future. Or lets see maybe you would like to spend your own money hundreds of dollars worth of equipment for your own home.
Lets think about this even further if you would like.. Maybe they want no more "bodybuilder" types in gyms.. Why? becuase well who would want to take steriods if you cant lift heavy weights? whats the point ?
Maybe eventually its complete control from the government to stop steriods at a different angle.
Now lets see what kinda response you have after this comment.

Also to add to that... i was in there 2 months prior checking it out. It was good 2 months ago. So i opted not to take the walk around again assuming it was still the same..
Apparently not..
my bad. i should have read minds and saw it coming.

Im lucky enough that my franchise gym goes up to 140lbs and the hardcore gym I now attend has up to 160s or 180s I believe.

Holy conspiracy theory.
Actually i sell fitness equipment to companies and gym so i actuually do understand.
I dont know if this gym had these dumbbells before. But Heavy dumbbells are very expensive. For the cost of 70-120 db's a gym owner can buy another machine, bike are most of a tread or elliptical. That stuff get used by 90% of the gym not 2% Also a bike or machine will last for years. You get some dip shit who drops a 100lb db and it bend you have to buy a new pair.
Money is tight i'm sure that's why he is signing up people for 20 with free guest

I goto Xsport Fitness and its pretty decent, has everything I need and more. But I may have to request that they go a little higher on the dumbbells. They go up to 150lbs but after next cycle thats just not going to cut it.

My regular gym club fitness is pretty hardcore and commercial at the same time. 20 bucks a month with a 1yr contract, 150lb dumbells, mutliple squat racks, benches etc etc...pretty nice. The powerlifting dungeon I go when I'm training for a meet is 50 bucks a month, but has chains, platforms, chalk pits everywhere, bands, etc. I went to a 24 hr fitness when I was interviewing for dental school and almost got kicked out for deadlifting 405 x10 and being noisy....lame.

The owner did you a favor. Now you won't be forced to workout with sub-standard equipment.

I train in the mornings now..so that keeps the crowd down significantly.
I have tried to go back at night for extra cardio, that ****ing place was packed to the rim with every kind of moron you could imagine. It stays packed at night, I drove past it at 9pm and it was slammed.
I hate that shit.***No source checks!!!***

a pair of 100lb commercial dumbels cost just under $300

Yeah, i was forced to join a NYSC after my local closed....it has what you need, but not nearly enough, and cardio bullsh*t takes up way more space. My biggest complaint is one incline bench and NO free standing shoulder press.
I bet a franchise gym going back to the basics would do good. Chicks would follow the muscle. lol

The only good thing about these commercial gyms are that a lot of hot tail workout at them.. Especially MILFS. When I worked out at a Planet Fitness in Upstate NY there were so many girls there! The only bad thing was that was where me and my girlfriend at the time would go at night and I couldn't really stare since she was right there with me. But when she was doing a set my eyes would wonder!

I love World Gym plus... Worked out there for years. We have all the perks of a hardcore rat hole (120lb DB's Ect.) Plus (as mentioned above) TONS OF HOT ASS EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK!!!!
I wouldnt fream of going back to the crappy sausage fest of a gym that I worked out in before Worlds.

That gym actually wasn't so bad. It did have some comedic value. The dude who owned it was like 95lbs soaking wet, dressed like a pro wrestler (headband and all!) all the time, and looked like a hippie. He acted like a hippie too... this guy was so burnt, that we worked out there for like 1.5 years without a membership, and he never even realized it!! We just walked past him everyday like..."Yo Gary!! Whats up bro!!" he would point back and say... "Just Chillin!"
There was another dude, who had no legs, and would wheel himself into the gym on a fvckin SKATEBOARD!!! No Lie! The dude was like a Muscle-bound Torso with a block head and diesel ass arms. Now THAT'S what I call some serious dedication!!!

haha thats funny. Yea im tired of all these Globogyms setting up, they get crowded as hell. When im home i lift in on my shitty bench, i have to use chairs with books on them on either side of the bar to spot myself for benching and squating. I also put a pillow on a chair and lay on that and wedge my legs onto the bar with some weights to hold it down to do back excersizes. And nothing beats dips between two chairs back to back... nothing like getting creative/ghetto.
my university gym aint bad tho. Its somewhat of a shithole, but just enough to keep the idiots out and the hardcore people in.
