Nice man. Good to see another catman, so many other fishers I know are snobbish towards me because they don't see catfish as a challenge, what they are forgetting is how fun it is. I mostly do channel since thats whats available.

getting in the water and catching catfish with only your hands. They hide in holes in the mud and you can stick your arm in there and grab them.

I'm heading up to lake nipissing here in ontario to do some musky fishing later in the month. Lots of walleye, perch, smallmouth/largemouth bass and pike there as well.

Noodling is when you actually go into the water and feel around in holes on the bottom and under logs waiting for a catfish to bite down onto your hand so you can grab it and pull it out of the water.

red.....the vents are closed on one end and open on the other, the cat fish thinks its a log....they go inside to make a nest, they can swim in and out as they want, but once they lay there eggs they say in it. the opened end is tie off to a stump. you just pull up on the rope, the cat doesnt try to get out, they want to protect the nest. so really its not a trap and you dont need a traping license. if you notice my traps are old and rusty....they like that. for big cats you can use barrels, but me, i like the cats in the 2 to 15lb range for best eating.

i got different sizes, i use 24 and 12 inch black drain pipe for the larger ones, but mostly i use 6 inch a/c duct vents. what i like about this type trap is that you can leave them in the water without checking them often, he cats dont die like in a slat trap or hoop net or even trot lines.

Wow, thats pretty cool! Thanks for explaining, I really had no idea one could catch fish that way.

15 lbs fish? Wow... And I'm happy as a pig in shit when I catch a 5 lbs bass! (of course a 5 lbs bass fights you like a damm shark! but thats half the fun )

Fly fishing I never really got into (well, never really tried seriously), but it looks like quite an art.

I guess thats gonna be on my "list of things to do when I have time"
