New legistation to ban OTC sale of vitamins and supplements!
Has anyone heard of or researched this new legislation to ban vitamins. The Bill is called S1082. Here is one link I found, but maybe someone else has found more information on this topic.

Nope, no joke.
That legislation has been brought up several times before, and each time it's been shot down, thanks to Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah.
Anyone who wants to keep things as they are, where you can buy your multiple vitamins and protein supplements from your neighborhood health food shop needs to send a letter to their 2 US Senators and their US Congressman ASAP telling them you don't like this bill. Your message doesn't have to be elequent or elaborate, just say:
---------------------------------------
Senator XXXXXX,
I heard about the Food and Drug Administration Revitalization Act (S1082) currently up for consideration. I am opposed to this legislation, so please vote against it.
Thank you,
Your name
Address
-----------------------------
Of course, if you don't mind the government taking away your right to take whatever vitamins you want, do nothing, and this just may happen.

The FDA can't handle the overseeing supplements and they really don't want to. Figures a liberal like Kennedy wants to save us all from the big bad supplement company. Why doesn't he give us a national health plan instead!

same kind of shit has been happening in the EU. They where scarily close to pulling it of!
I dont understand the logic of it. Who has any money to make from banning OTC sales of vitamins and suplements? Is it big pharm that wants to make it prescription? Micronutrient content in food has gone down alot and nowdays suplements is almost a must even with a diverse diet.
