American Government is full of shit!! Can drink heavily, cant use steroids.
The American Government is full of shit. They are one big smoke screen. They say we are a free country yet there are seatbelt laws, and bike helmet laws, [B]steroid laws , yet alchohol is perfectly legal. When you ingest alchohol you know that the liquor has no positive affects, atleast steroids have some positive affects. If they were legalized there would not be the abuse since doctors could monitor the use and give professional advice face to face to a user. However, the American government does not want steroids to be legal for the reason of profit, atleast this is how I feel. The medicine business is the largest most profitable industry in the USA. By making steroids a controlled substance and only issued by perscription they can further their allready humongous profit.
I recently watched Dateline a popular nightly news show that said that allthough steroid laws in the USA are getting stronger and more strict, use of Anabolic steroids are at an all time high. Since America claims to be a nation of the people they will have to begin to recognize that steroids are not going anywhere. Just like the prohibition in which the US Government tried to outlaw alchohol, the people would not put up with it. I am not saying that the number of steroid users is even close the vas number of alchohol drinkers, but it is growing. America will begin to fall behind when it comes to sports because in many other countries steroids are legal. Their athletes will become bigger, faster, and stronger and we Americans will stay the same.

you can argue that all day long and it's not going to do much. You're preaching to the choir in here though
p.s. Some of those laws are just there to protect dumbasses from hurting themselves

The IOC and other authorities prohibit the use of performance enhancing drugs. It is this and not the legality of steroids that prevents athletes from using them!

Alcohol kills millions a year and Marijuana induced cases are slim, yet it is illegal. The market is enormous for alcohol and the gov directly benefits from it. Tobacco is an even better example.

Good replies, I like to hear what everyone has to say. I do love this country but I dont feel we have the best decision makers. Like I said I dont think alchohol should be illegal because I do drink sometimes. Buy you will never get anything good from alchohol consumption. Cigarrettes as well. Im just saying that if ciggarettes and alchohol are legal which have not one positive affect on the human body (although some say that min. amounts of beer can be healthy for you) why can we not see the positive affects that steroids can have for people. Steroids would be no more dangerous than alchohol if people were educated on the proper use of steroids. If they were legal Doctors could properly administer. Thanks again for everyones input.
