I totally agree. It does suck. They could of spent the time on meth labs BUT it is a law. All this steroid shit has gotten out of control ever since Barry Bonds and Balco. We should blame bonds lol!

you guys are acting like they are not doing anything but busting guys for juice...i know it seems like a lot lately, but if there was a forum for sik fuks who like child porn they would prolly have a thread call "lots of busts lately, stay safe" cause there have been a record number of busts in that too as well as street drugs...it is illegal, we know taht and it is a chance we take and getting mad at the cops for doing there job for busting juice is usless...

Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what little I have read about these busts a good portion of the people involved were dealing, in one way or another, with bulk powder from China. IMO China is probably the largest supplier of illicit precursor materials, various ready-to-use scheduled chemical substances, and custom synthesized compounds for numerous applications (performance enhancement, hallucinogenic, narcotic, etc) in the world right now. Dismantling the distribution networks and shutting down these labs has probably been a high priority of the US government for some time.
Although the typical steroid user may be a law abiding citizen those supplying them may be keeping company with some unsavory characters to say the least. The same Chinese lab that cranked out bulk steroid powder may also be producing pseudoephedrine by the ton. Whomever is shipping meth precursors to Mexico by the shipping container full probably doesn’t care if there are some anabolic , psychedelic, or narcotic precursors in there too. These recent busts (pure speculation here) might have been a by-product of the US government attempting to stop the influx of China made chems as a whole.
Personally, I feel for these individuals as well as all the others that are serving time for non-violent non-addictive drug offences, gambling, and/or prostitution. The laws need to change but its not sheer luck that heroin, opium, cocaine, etc can travel such distances virtually undetected. Somone is getting paid off and until we can vote the whole lot out and start over its not going to get better. But that’s JMO.Last edited by TAPPER; 09-28-2007 at 09:23 AM.

I conduct training seminars(explosive ordinance disposal) for police all over the US-this past week I was Kansas City, MO. and Baltimore MA.- the busts came up in converstion. This is what I gleaned from talking to SWAT and Narcotics officers in those two cities. When a particular crime is in the news(crack, carjacking, identity theft, steroids ) they expect to pulled away from whatever else is going on for "dog and pony shows". The DEA and Customs are no different.

Thank God Godfather that they're not targeting the end user, like they do in child porn. Also some of the ones that got busted were overdoing it with publicity, the ones that are more cautious are still in business.

Your jobs your job! Cops probably speed when they are off duty all the time too, but they still pull people over. We know its illegal, and we choose to do it anyway, yeah it sucks, and yeah ever country but the U.S., Canada and Australia its legal to use it for the most part, but if its that important move to one of those countries. Your not going to change the law, the F'n FDA tried to tell them not to make it illegal, you think a few letters are going to change anything? Also the way the media has destroyed it for us, no politician in their right mind is going to swing against the fence for a few votes, when millions think its wrong. Im actually suprised they are being so harsh on smoking in bars and alot of towns. In my opinion smoking and drinking should be illegal if steroids are. Now making prohomones illegal was just taking it to far.

I agree allot with tapper. I dont think the bust was specificly targeted at steroids , as much as powders. The medicene industrie is losing millions of dollars due to all the people who have started buying meds on line from labs that are making all sort of things from powder. The medicen industrie and politics are closely realated due to poloticians having the power to approve or deny medicene. It all about keeping money in the medical and political fields. Also china wants to kiss ass and look all good for the olyimpics.

Being a cop is just a job. It does not mean you have to be pationate about each and every law. They enforce them though because its what they are paid to do, and if they dont, then they are not paid.

but the guys in the U.S. who got busted appear to only be moving juice.....I read 3-4 court documents, and not once did i see anything other than performance enhancers on the list of illegal activities.
I am still calling bullshit on this bullshit

I look at it this way.............
When I worked operations in the military, I did my job as I was ordered to do. The chain of command tells us what to do. LE is the very same way. If you want to stop the hassle on the gear, get rid of the fckups who get to the media. Once or twice is not a big deal, but come on, look at all the fkun morons in the media now about steroids . Gear has more heat on it that all of the other rec drugs together right now.
Here is an example. If we had guys brewing pain killers, i.e. morphine, hydrocodon (?spelling), vicoden, etc.. in unsafe environments and selling it in mass marketing efforts to any joe off the street, I would be first in line to bust a sting on those guys. Amplify that by adding media coverage, unlimited supply, and little regulation, and we are back to where we are now with steroids. There would be a whole line of people saying they were buying the product and using it in a safe, researched manner and I was imposing upon their civil rights to do with their body what they saw fit. (I don't believe that this should be legal to home-brew this stuff and send it out all over the place) I do feel steroids IF USED PROPERLY BY KNOWLEDGEABLE INDIVIDUALS is perfectly fine. A matter of opinion. Why in my mind is steroids ok but not pain killers (and other such like)?
The steroid community forgot a very simple rule in the trade. Police your own. Why do the big cartels never go down. They police their own. Keep idiots out of the media and LE and politics won't have to explain why they have done a poor job of keeping this off the streets.
When this blows over, perhaps the guys left standing will remember the basics.

What is the most common human characteristic?? Fear or lazyness.. In my opinion the feds are just shaking the chain. I, for one, am pretty sure that there is not one mother f'er in Washington that looses any sleep over anything I put into my body, but at the same time if 500 tons of juice was accidently swaped with a shipment of "Cyanide", well that would be bad for them.. even though, they are not going to a single funeral. So, in short, I don't think they feel bad, good, or any other way, they just do enouf to keep from looking like they don't do anything....
