    Help me quit my job!!!!!

    Well kids, i'm 27 and I manage a restaraunt!

I like the work and the pay is decent around here. I get to work with all girls which is nice too.

I also have a construction company and this is my 2nd year doing that. I've done well for myself and I have more than my anual income in the bank from the construction work.

I own 5 houses that I rent out, still have mortgages on those and for the most part I can live off the income those bring in. I want to get more, have the money to invest in more but time is the constant issue with me.

I work at least 12 hours every day, 7 days a week. Some how my girl tolerates my lack of being anywhere but on a job site or working.

I really need to just quit the restaraunt job, I started there when I was 16 and was managing it when I was 18.

I'm just having such a hard time just relying on myself for income...not having that steady income to fall back on worries me to shit!

if you can live of the steady income from your 5 houses you rent out why are you worrying about working at a resturant? and you own a construction company? it sounds like your set man. Quit the resturant job that is for *****s lol and make sure your girl isnt running around with any other guys cause my girl would be flippin out if I work 7 days a week she flips out when I work 5 days a week. but good luck with whatever choice you make.

J-Dogg you have good problems bro and obviously a good head on your shoulders if you've established what you have. i think failure is not an option for someone like you man, you know what to do... go do it. think, if you resign from your restaurant position you'll have more time to be even more creative... perhaps with your equity. go flip some real estate bro and make some "real" dividends. i'm interested in hearing how it goes too.. let us know.

Youre young my good man and youre heading down the right road.

Forget your restaurant job, by know you must already know that it is costing you more money to work there than your getting paid.

Think about this... If you make $100 an hour doing your job, and someone says that they will paint your house for $20 an hour it would cost you $80 an hour to do it yourself. So how much are you losing working at that restaurant?

I don't get that statement?? It is costing him more to do it an hour than if someone painted it.

If he could make more money elsewhere than he is at the restaraunt then he is, effectively, losing money he could be making at the other job/project.

I ran into this when I started making decent money.. I really enjoy modding and racing my bikes and cars but it takes me longer than a professional and I don't have the greatest work space.. I can go work some OT and make more money than the pro is going to charge me to do the job I would like to do myself.. it just doesn't make sense to do it myself anymore...

    Thanks for the help,

I guess it is just hard to take the risk. Contracting is good work it is good money but the thing is people can quit calling for work any time. I guess as long as you are doing good work and treating your customers fair you can make it. I have always look at it though that i will do what ever it takes to make ends meet. I am not scared of work and i like the work I do, i honestly am the hardest working mofo i know.

A lot of people i know probably look at me and wonder wtf he is he doing there still? I think it is due to my williness to change. I need to have more faith in myself and my ability. I do know though i can do what ever it is god puts in front of me.

Look at it this way... if you have been managing this restaurant for many years and are doing a good job then at least you can quit knowing you'll have something to fall back on if your business and real estate ventures don't pan out.

The management experience you gained at that restaurant will open doors at many other restaurants should the need arise in the future, so you can move on from that job (which I agree is holding you back from better/greater things) in full confidence.

    Just my opinion of course.
