Laser or PPK Eye Surgery
Hey Guys,
Just curious if anyone here has had or knows people that have had Laser or PRK Eye surgery. I'm thinking about doing it, as I only have one defective eye. It's about $1300 to get one eye done, and I've got $1000 to cover it through my work benefits. I've heard a couple horror stories (e.g. permanently seeing starts) but since it's only one eye I know the risk would be reduced too.

my uncle is getting PRK. Laser cuts your cornea. While i guess PRK just smoothes it out. PRK takes about 3-5 days to fully recover. Laser is about 1-3.
I dont know how much that helps but my uncle just didnt like the laser as much.

PRK hurts like hell, and the recovery is a lot longer, and it takes longer to see results, but PRK is a better surgery. Less chance of complications, and usually you are over corrected so you have 20/15 which is nice. Plus you don't run the risk of having the flap opening up in an accident.
