going to get on my knee, after i pull my prank and she is going to take my last name, she told me it along time. my last name is an easy last name, short sweet, and easy to spell even for a 4 year old. her name is a long polish alphabet disaster. she is definately upgrading to a better last name.

Don't do it, you've already got the best that she has to give, no sense paying the tab after you had the mealall down hill from here, you will be just another married, blank eyed guy at the gym that people only see time to time

Why is it ingrained in us that we have to get married and start a family? I know I'm not trying to get married and so call "compromise" (which means the chic always gets her way) fuk that, good luck what ever you decide, but know that this is one of those times in life that you don't want to look back on and go "fuk, what was I thinking"

first, congrats Doc you big bastard i am sure she is just as lucky as you are to have each other...when you have found the right one marry here and hang on to her till the end bro...love the proposal idea too....
Second the bolded part that Goodcents wrote, might just be the smartest thing i have ever read on any board...we are taught thats what we have to do to be happy, no one can be happy if they are not married and especially if they dont have kids...well they are wrong, i will be very happy with out ever having kids, and after one failed marriage i dont know if i will do it again and i know i will be happy...i hate people that say i need to get married and have kids soon, why? so cause your friends do and society says so, BULLSH!T...do it cause you want to and it actually will make you happy, like Doc, marriage will enrich his life and i am sure kids do that for others, but for me not havibng kids is better for me, and so is not married...
once again, congrats bro....

LOL! you have made some good points my friend, but over all ther is more good i am going to get out of this than bad, i am doing the right thing, so i dont get to hook up with other girls, act up with my friends as often, and be independent all the time, yes all this sucks . but it is a trade off, you do get alot of good, i finaly will have someone to take care of me and make sure i have clean underwear and a full stomach !lol! seriously we make a good team and she lets me do whatever i want, i cant ask for more than that

first off thanks webb
2nd i agree with you 1000%. getting married is a bad idea if you are doing it because you think it is the right thing to do for your age or because your friends are doing it, i stayed single longer than just about all my other friends, i had a blast! and i would have kept up living the way i did if i didnt meet her. i used to get pressured by other married people or my family on why i wouldnt settle down or why i would bring a new girl home for christmas each year. getting married for the sake of being married is just an ass end backward idea i would recomend to no one, and anyone in a hurry to get married is fckn crazy, i held out as LONG as i could. lol! i still am in no hurry, after we get engaged, i will do everything in my power to slow down the wedding date.i fought a good fight,i made it almost to my mid 30's living like rock star and avoided the engagement for the last 3.5 years, i had a great run.the time is right and i feel right , and encourage any one reading this post to not get married unless you are SO sure it is the right thing. check your self and than double and triple check yourself and your situation to make sure it is 100% the right thing to do. any doubts, dont do it and hold out until you are sure

yes she accepted! i scared her to death with the air horn and i used silly string instead of a bucket of water, i think i would have been in alot of trouble if i threw water on her, i did catch completely off guard! she is real happy and now wont shut up about how she loves the ring and as far as a date, she is pushing for next winter, i want to wait until spring, i like warmer weather, the winter sucks, thanks for all the support gentleman and al the general concern, it is good to know people are interested in your well being and life!
