A lot more than usual noobs
Have noticed there have been a lot more threads created by 16-19 year olds on here recently in the main forum and something someone else said to one of these guys has made me think....
the quote was...

"agreed.
aas are not magic beans.. seems the media's effort of trying to make ass an evil substance has in a way back fired, and infact brought them into the limelight. so more average lads see them as bad (in a cool street sense) cause there an easy illigal option, and lads love being 'badboys'
after all, when they show steroids on tv, they always show huge guys... n what guy doesnt wanna look huge, ripped and attractive / something special...
and its the medias image that guys on steroid pick up a peice of paper and they have muscles like arnie, just cause there on steroids.
but they never put across the hard work put in at the gym, the conviction of eating the correct diet constantly, and the will to better ones self....
I blame the media for the poor effort to get ratings by unfounded shock stories that have actually glorified steroids..."
anyone else agree with this?Last edited by shifty_git; 12-17-2007 at 11:04 PM.

i feel it is the easy road to a great body.. i know two (2) ppl my age who have used aas (18 yrs old) and the one kid ate like shlt which included never eating protein besides muscle milk and always eating junk fast food and cookies and shit for meals, and he was huge and fvckin lean too
i honestly feel it gets you huge without dieting all day every day
i know i am going to get stoned for posting this but remember i am just posting this based on my personal knowledge and experience w/ aas users

I agree, all the negative attention has created a whole generation that believe AAS are an easy solution to laziness, it is not magic, training is all about sacrifice and hard work. Of course occasionally an 18 yr old gets great results eating like shit barely training and taking D-bol, but as Amorphic says he probably had great genetics and could have achieved that state with some hard work naturally.
Our society is always looking for short cuts, look at all the diet pill infomercials, they sell snake oil and make millions, because people want the easy road.
I never knew of AAS at 18, now every kid knows about them and a good majority will blindly take anything they can get their hands on, regardless if it the right thing to do or potentially dangerous to them.

lol... yea i guess i forgot about the business perspective of it all... it's definatly more profitable to get as many members on here as possible... but what made me think that was the fact that back when i joined here there wasn't a board sponser and there was nothin for sale here... so yea from a business standpoint i see how it all works...

I wish i would have joined earlier to have seen the board the way it was back in the day

yea it was definatly alot calmer around here... and to be honest alot more educational threads were floating around... i guess b/c for about the first 2 years i was here it was all the same people and you knew all 300 members, they were all very educated on the subject and very knowlegdable in general... not to say u arent or that many of the other members arent but there were alot less idiots... also the board members were alot tighter... like i said it was kind of like a cult around here back then... but really i don't know if it's cause i know pretty much everything there is to know on this board or if its the retardly stupid questions that are asked on an hourly basis that keeps me from answering every one of them...

what we need is a senior member forum, where 'the group' can get together and discuss things beyond the typical noob questions. but then again that wouldnt be fair to 'hide' information or experiences from new members i suppose.

Kids hear about all the pro athletes being busted for steroids and think that it's what they need to be a good athlete. When I was a kid and saw the rocket pitch in Boston the last thing on my mind was if he was on steroids or not. Kid logic and steroids and idols in the media is not a good thing. These things need to be handled like breaking wind in class, keep it quiet but get it done.

I agree with what you have said 100%.
Way too many people join that could care less about lifting naturally long term to make gains and use juice.
The biggest blame is the govt. and the media...I was at work and literally heard this quote:
"After seeing all this stuff on the news about steroids , it makes me want to use them and really see what all the hype is about them. Are they really that good? I don't know but I want to found out now, I am interested in it."
