Digital Cams
Can any of you make any suggestion in terms of buying a new camera?
Im looking for a simple to use camera, good quality pictures. Easy to transfer to computer and use. Most of them I will use when at parties, supper clubs, clubs. So it would have to be good in very dark environment. Also I will take it on vacation and beach resorts. Zoom is not much of a factor. I prefer a rechargeable one then batteries.
Through my research I've come with the following possibilites.
1)My friend has a Panasonic Lumix, the pics cam out really good and he is technically challenged, so it must be very easy to use.
2)Sony
3)Canon
Have any feedback, suggestions?
Thanks

Make sure you get one with a decent lense..
Some might blab on about how many mega pixel, effects, blah blah but a good lense makes loads of difference..
Like think mega pixel camera fones... Reason the pic still isnt great even though there in the mega pixels is cause of the tiny crappy little lense.
The Lumix ones are nice quality... ive had 2 and a samsung.

Yeah Im leaning towards the Canon as well. The fact that the Lumix uses batteries annoys me. Also read good reviews on the Canons.
Shifty can you elaborate on the lens part, how exactly would I determine it is a good lens?

Well canon are known for there good lenses...
When you look rounfd the front of the lense theres a whole series of numbers n letters... things like 35-70ml f/1.4 etc - they determine types of things like normal shape of the pic, panoramic, wide angle etc, and things like aperture (how much light is let in)
heres a link that explains...

probably over complicating things.. lol

Ok yeah it does clarify things a little, Ill just focus on a normal or wide angle lens. Also aperture because I need it in dark environments.
