I am about to be on Sports Radio talking about Steroids in Baseball...
I'm on hold... they're having me on in a few minutes to talk to the host about steroids in baseball ... I'm going to be giving my opinion on their overstated dangers and how the media has sensationalized these claims.
I'm trying to forumlate my ideas really quick because they're not giving me much time to prep...so post up some ideas that I can hit on...

I wanna go for...
1. The majority of steroid users in America are not athletes, but men who lift weights and want to improve their physiques.
2. Their overstated and sensationalized danger in the media. Not 1 person has ever died from the use of steroids , documented in a medical journal.
3. The FDA, DEA, and AMA were all opposed to the drugs being scheduled.
4. As far as cheating is concerned, that is an ethical dilemma and not a legal matter that should be discussed in the halls of Congress. One could also argue corrective lenses, cortizone shots, and creatine are unfair advantages, which improve natural ability.
5. The legal aspect. There is no provision for legislating what substance a person is able to put into their bodies.

its kind of late, but one thing I always tell people
who claim that organ damage like on that one show on national geographic
"thats fine, if steroids caused all these problems.....I want you to tell me exactly which drugs they were taking? in what doses? and for how long? "
(nobody has this answer, because its simply not available) or these documentaries at least dont explain this matter....they dont do it for 1 of 2 reasons
1. the answers to these questions would be so rediculous, that it would hurt their argument
2. they dont know the answers, and therefor have no business making the argument in the first place

They didn't try to argue with you are anything? Normally if I ever talk steroids with anyone it always turns into an arguement about how they do/don't kill people.

The host was a former Eagles player so he was actually pretty cool and receptive about it. I just tried to argue that ya know the dangers of steroids are really overstated by the media and alot of the information is just down right false. And of course, I slammed Congress for wasting our tax dollars to hold hearings on Baseball.
