What would you like to read? fiction? gay literature? english literatura? american literatura? from other countries? classical? poetry? modern, contemporary? give a clue and your expectations.

I use to read nothing but non-fiction but i have been branching out. Gay literature if ok but i haven't found anything really good. Most of the gay books i read just seem ummm fake, if that makes sense. I don't see too much in foreign/classical and no poetry at all for me
Does that help ?

There are million authors. See what happens with Allan Hollinghurst (English gay literature) I read The swimming-pool library. he wrote a novel i haven't read but i would like to: The line of beauty. In american gay literature i think the man is David Leavitt. Try Orlando by Virginia Woolf.
but you always have melville, henry james, jack london, flanery o'******, Dubliners by James Joyce...millions to quote unfortunately

I love catcher in the rye, I have read it a hundred times, you know just like the psycho killers do. Anyways, I go through phases on the type of books I read. Have you tried Agatha Christie? I am addicted to her Hercules Poirot books, murder mysteries and they are awesome! I bet you'll love them too. Start with "the murder of Roger Ackroyd" also in death on the nile, murder on the orient express, and the list goes on. I believe there are 53 books with him as the detective.

Fiction: "The Fancy Dancer," by Patricia Nell Warren. Story about a gay marathoner. Rumor has it that it'll be made into a major motion picture (someday).
Non-fiction: Systemantics -- a parody of business systems -- recommended, particularly if you work in a corporation or government.

Iv read a lot of chuck palanuke, hes my favorite righter hands down. He wrote fight club, choke, survivor, all kindsa fvckn awsome books. He use to use anadrol , and the main guy n survivor gets all juiced up. Hes writing another book now n he said its about 3 guys n line of the worlds longest gangbang, its the story of how they got their n their whole lives. Choke is about a sex addict n he luves going to restarunts to choke on food so he can be saved n make people feel better about themselves. Hes a twacked out individual, but amazing writer.

Sometimes romance novels, sometimes mystery (the Dave Brandstetter mystery series), accounts of gay-related history (like the guy who invented computer science, Alan Turing), or books like "Geography Club:"
"Geography Club," according to publisher HarperCollins, tells the story of a teen convinced he's the only gay student at his high school until his online chat buddy turns out to be the popular but closeted star of the school's baseball team. The two eventually find other gay peers but must meet in a guise so dull that local homophobes won't think to intrude -- hence the "Geography Club" of the title.
Google for a "Gay book club," see what's for sale . . .

I know you said you are off of Non-fiction right now but STeve Martin's memoir 'Born Standing Up' is a good read.
Another good book that I have picked up but haven't had a chance to really open up is 'Tree of Smoke' from what I hear.

seawolf
takes place probably somewhere between the 30's and 50's maybe, I really really am not sure.....anyways, a guy with a privalaged life, is on a boat in the ocean which sinks......barely alive, he gets rescued by some kind of hunters, I cant remember exactly what it was......Anyways, he gets forced to work, the captain of the ship is a bad ass son of a bitch who has this really crazy and unique outlook on life (he is a selfish prick basically).........anyways, the book is highly philisophical......we actually had to read it for philosophy class......Their is alot of philisophical discussions and arguments between the rescued guy and the captain.....its a great book
I thought I would hate it, but ended up likeing it
