i think the worst part I saw (and only because it was close up) was when the guy was skinning some animal while it was still alive- it then did a close up of this animal with no skin, quivering and blinking, so still in an excrutiating amount of pain and not dead
some people are sick!

I may sound like a politician but I agree with both sides. Unnecessary creulty is wrong and people that get pleasure from torturing animals have a screw loose but I love to wear leather and eat a steak. I personally believe animals are God's gift to us and should be treated with respect but certianly not held up to the level of humans.

I would be in Jail if I had access to those people. I kid you not. I would for sure kill anyone who enjoyed torturing animals for pleasure. I don't have any problems nor will I feel any pain to hurt these humans. I would love to join an underground society to hunt down these fvcks. I'm not talking about doctors who use animals for testing or meat companies. It’s the ones that enjoy bringing pain to animals for fun. Kill them all and let me sort there bodies out to be burned of feed back to the animals. I'm ready to give my soul for this purpose!

i am not going to watch it. i dont think i can. there is a lot of harm and terrible things in the world. i am reminded of this every day by the news and current events. when i come here, on this board, i am come to forget the outside world and the tragedies of life. i dont need an extra bad mojo or reminders of how fcked this planet is. i am not going to shut the post down, those who want to watch knock yourselves out, but i wont be one to view it.just reading about it has been enough to ruin my day

ehhh, I couldn't get main vid to load and so I watched "part 1" on another link related to that vid.. it wasn't what I'd call cool ofr fun but necessary.. yes. we gotta eat. next time you complain about the price of groceries, think about doubling your food bill so the animals you're about to eat can have cushy lives before you eat them.
I have no problem killing, skinning, and eating my own meat. I've done it before and I'll do it again.
I do think animals should be treated with some level of respect, for sure, but not to where it rivals that of people.

thats too bad, hard to watch

Please Let's not confuse eating meat and torturing animals for gratification. PETA, greenpeace and the naspca. The top of there agenda is to take your right away from you to eat meat. They do it by posting these horific vids from the 50's 60's 70's. They sway your heart then they put it to a vote it happen in my state and it can happen to you.

its pretty obvious from the footage that this documentary is very recent.
dont misunderstand the point im trying to make about this thread. i will continue to eat meat and i wont be stopping.
the issue is with the torture of animals. i have no problem eating meat and i will continue to eat meat, but it makes me sick to see certain individuals or groups that torture animals for their own sadistic ideals.

No the footage is not recent. The conditions in the slauter houses do exist. The usda would shut them down. The footage in the documentary is VERY dated.

I'm not watching the video because I'm already an avid animal lover, since I don't plan on becoming an animal activist, watching the video will do less for me than not watching it.
Not too long ago I was watching a video of how they push the crates of dogs off the top of trucks down a 2 story drop where they are transported from. You could see the bones breaking in the dogs when they hit the concrete inside the cages.
I said to myself "thats fvcked up", but I'm not going to hop on a plane, fly there, and go kill the m/fkrs like I want to. I'm also not going to waste time trying to change any cultural/political customs or rules because the world has too much shit happening all over, and helping in one area inevitably creates neglect towards another area.
So I'll stay inside my little bubble, eat meat (my brothers a butcher), non-kosher, sure the animals suffer, I don't think its fair, but its a dog eat dog world, and thats a part of life I've chosen to accept.
Even if I don't eat meat, an animal will still die for the next man, and since humans are innately ignorant to an extent (when they need to be) I'll be ignorant too.
But one thing I do know, if I'm standing on a roof next to soldier and he throws a puppy off the roof and starts laughing.. he's following that puppy, and if doesn't die, I'll drag his crippled body back up to the roof and keep throwing him off till he does die.
Or at least thats what I *say I'd do.

Not in packing houses Or slauter houses. YOU do not have the fact just a dated video. I been doing this stuff for twenty years. What makes you think you know more than me on what I do for a living. I talk to many pepole in the industry. You only have a dated video. You have a lot of knowlage you do not strike me as a person who belives there fedral government. Some not all of these videos get funding from the government. They are called public service anouncements. Dude you could take dated video uninformed people and make an anti steroid vid. You would get a group of people who would say yup that's all true. This is what PETA has done an they got you hook line and sinker.

i didnt assume i know more than you nor anyone else in the industry. you keep ignoring the fact that i support the meat market and will continue to do so. im not some PETA activist.
You also seem to ignore the violence and torture in the video by justifying that it is old footage. regardless of how old you think it is (and i do not believe any of it is over 10 years old) there are still going to be slaughterhouses that treat animals poorly. they may be in minority but it will still happen.
if it doesnt happen where you work, then thats great, and i am happy to know you and whoever you work with do your jobs ethically.

I agree with the point a kill should be as quick as posible. My father said this way there soul goes untourchered to heaven. As weird as that sounds. But the point I am more try to make is that these people are blowing the whole thing out of proportion. If that happens and the new story media gets it. The story gets even more juciey. That is just one step closer to taking my right to eat meat away. Anyway a kill should be quick as possible. Yes, but the annimal activist groups just go to the extreme with there crap tactics. Also I personaly would never abuse any animal. I have a hunting dog and I would NEVER raise a hand in anger ever.
