I actually work in the urban music industry and work with Lil Wayne personally as well as many of the other artists you guys have mentioned in this thread.

The whole music industry has gone to shit, period. It is very difficult for an artist to sell 1,000,000 copies his first week these days so Lil Wayne definitely set a standard that has not been scene in over 3 years. Those numbers simply haven't existed.
