Black holes are so g/damn cool. If we could make one in a machine I'd say its worth the risk of losing 6 billion lives.
    We've overstayed our welcome anyways.

i always wondered what would happen if you went through a black hole...another universe or maybe another year past or future

its not actually a hole though, just immensely powerful gravity. you would just be obliterated from the insane gravity.

(not that any of us really know the answer though)

Seriously, for anyone who can't get enough. Read about the 'event horizon' on black holes or the 'point of no return'.

Once you or anything crosses this point you literally cease to exist anymore. Everything about you or Earths fancy instruments gets pulled into a hole where nothing escapes.

I've always wondered what would happen if we sent a 50megatron H bomb into a black hole on a timer (not remote) if it would blow out the core and weaken the gravitational pulls revealing the true nature of these beasts.

or it would just get destroyed before the bomb had time to detonate. if light cant even escape a black hole i dont think there is anything you can do to one to change it.

it is pretty fascinating though, a huge mystery.

    That really is crazy.
Its like saying if we packed a bomb in 48 inches of steel the pull of a blackhole would still break it.
But look at it from the eyes of a scientist, You KNOW these dudes have tried everything possible.
I just cant understand how the thickest steel they've thought of wound up being like balsa wood.

I made up my mind, I'm calling NASA.

2 shots of test a day and I'll own these blackholes..

For christ sakes, a black hole is NOT going to suck the earth and the universe into it. I wish people would stop reading/listening to shitty media scaremongering. We already have a thread up on this subject:
Large Hadron Collider = The End For Earth???

This is going to be one of the greatest days in human history, not armageddon.

doesnt a black hole just crush everything down, and not just suck it all away? nothing would happen no matter what you put in a black hole except it would become denser

black hole spagettify atoms. the gravity is so strong it stretches and tears apart molecules all the way down to the atom.

You really dont being to fully appriciate the sheer scale of this thing until you see it in real life. The atlas detector for the LHC is HUGE! One of the most impressive things I have seen.
