Usain Bolt
This kid is incredible!!!
9.69, laughing and dancing the last 10metres to the finish line.
He has moved whole generations of track history to new and unbelievable levels. And... just 21 years of age.

Like saying Michael Johnson had no right running 19.32 in 96 wearing gold spikes.
Show off.

Thats sick time. I didn't see it. Is that the 100m??
But I agree with N*E*R*D.
"dancing and laughing" the last 10 meters is pretty disrespectful and unsportsmanlike. ....no class
Possibly could've had a better time if he would've really ran those last 10m.

His words were "He didn't come to break the world record, he came to win".
That shows respect imo.

It was an awesome race hopefully he passes his drug test. He smoked everyone without even trying. He could have run 9.5 if he had gone 100% the whole race.

I think hes a tremendous athlete, but perhaps if he carried himself like phelps i would respect him a little more. Phelps is far more dominant of an athlete, and acts like he has done it before. Phelps has it down. Win the race, crush everyone else, raise a finger like you knew nothing else was going to happen. If Bolt acted this way i think i would like him a whole lot more.

Agreed, It's like any boxer or MMA fighter that starts out their career humble and respectful but once they win a few tough fights they start spouting out like "I'm the best in the world, bring anybody on, I can't be beaten" That's when I lose respect for them as an athlete.

Look the realism is that this guy ran the fastest legal 100m on the face of the earth, now weather being a show pony the last 10m was un sportsman like or not is hard to say, however he certainly would have run 9.65 or lower had he had actually ran full stick to the line.
This man will definetly dominate sprinting for possibly the next 10 years.

a) He has every right to be
b) When you're that talented, who cares if you're a show off
c) I don't really consider extending your arms for the final 10m showing off? It just goes to show how good he really is, he doesn't even have to give it 100% and he smashes the world record. Pure talent

Name the compound? They test for absolutely everything. Even HGH now, and THG (whatever the acronym is). Even cream application Test.
There is no drug he could be using that doesn't get tested.
Johnson never used, and Bolt is the same level, if not higher, than Johnson. And there's only so far a human being can go. The chance of anyone getting ever getting under 9 seconds is next to nothing. Noone ever questioned it would be possible to achieve 9.66. It was possible. But under 9 seconds is questioned. Near impossible.Last edited by Maverick_J8; 08-17-2008 at 06:02 AM.

Absolutely wrong. The tests are estimated to be at least a year to two years behind the current drugs. Ever hear of Marion Jones? She tested clean in every track meet she entered, but admitted to using steroids that were designed by BALCO. Tests can only be made for drugs they know about, not for drugs they have no idea exist.

Absolutely ridiculous! That sounds like a comment made by someone who has never won anything significant in their life. Trying passing that bs sentiment off to some of the greatest athletes of all time (Jordan. Woods, Ali, Favre, Smith, etc.). All showed similar traits of excitement during or following major victories.
Being named the 'world's fastest man' at only 21 in a race his isn't even built to win (he's 6'5), the man should be able to celebrate anyway he wishes.

No offence guys, but I find it funny that a bunch of bodybuilders, most of whom walk around in muscle shirts with their shoulders squared, chest thrust out and preening like birds in mating season (because they worked their ass off to look that way and earned the right to walk around like that and "display it"!) would take a dump on a runner who is doing the same thing.
Just my 2 cents worth...

Yeah, you're right. Michael Phelps wins 8 gold medals and he gives the credit to his teammates. WTF was he thinking?! During his finals, he should have rolled over onto his back, pointed at himself with one hand, while using the other to signify that he's number one. Because we all know that showing off before the race finishes is what really makes a champion great.
