    FitDay is prejudiced....

It wont let me enter a higher weight than my current weight...It says it has to be less...WTF...It also says that I'm overweight...Does anyone wanna join my class action lawsuit against this blatant discrimination?

I'll join. Its funny, I did the same thing a while back and didn't realize my "healthy weight" was b/w 132.6 lbs and 179 lbs. 130lbs is healthy at almost 6 feet!?!?! I'd love to use the program but as with you it won't let me join in the fun This is due to the fact they base the whole program around the Body Mass Index

I have now surpassed the overweight mark according to the BMI index and am now considered obese. The BMI index is not a good calculation to go by. It is a simple mathematical formula that measures bf based on height and weight but does not take in the account of athletes or those with greater muscle mass. Useless IMO due to the fact it does not distinguish the difference b/w lean body mass and fat mass. Due to this heavily muscled athletes may have a high BMI even though they don't have a high % of body fat and in others such as elderly people the BMI may appear normal even though muscle has been lost with aging.

Also every one is different on how they carry their weight as well. Not only is your health affected by excess body fat but where the fat is located. People that carry excess fat around their waist are much more at risk for health problems than those that carry it around their hips. According to the NIH a bigger waist circumference is linked to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, high bp, abnormal cholesterol level and heart disease when the BMI is 25 to 35 and the waist is 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women.
