did you take out your install cd out of your cd drive?

Also since you are running vista chances are that your computer doesnt know which OS you are trying to boot up with Vista or Linux.

I would never try installing another OS on a system that has Windows on it. Its like trying to put apples and oranges together and make them be the same.

I have never worked with Linux so I wouldnt be able to help you.

since you were able to post a thread I suppose that you have another computer that you are working from. Why dont you ask the guy that told you to install linux since he was smart enough to tell you to do that move then I am sure the he will be smart enough to know how to fix the problem.

SO you want both or you want just one?

why would you want both due running two OS in a laptop is going to make your processors work harder and not only that but your memory also... you are going to overload that poor laptop with that. unless its a duo core.

You have to reinstall; both from scratch and "partition" the harddrive.

Bacscially it splits the hard drive in two

so you can install one os on it

and another os on the other.

You will have to reboot each time to go to the other operating system though.

They also make programs that will make whats called a "virtual drive"

It allows you to use both oses in the same system

search for a program called "fusion"
