Need new sources for protein
Since the price in my country for protein powder has gone up by more than 100% I can't afford to buy it anymore
(And I'm talking about 90$ for 5 lbs!)
So what I eat for protein these days is pretty much this:
Eggs, Tuna, A local product that has 22 grams per 200 grams..
aaaand, well.. I can't think of anything else right now, can ya help me out a little bit?
I see this might be better suited for the diet forum but you get more responses here and its more fun over here

I get my powder from trueprotien.com. If you use discount codes (which are not hard to get ahold of) you can end up with like 25lbs of powder for a little over 100$ if you want it unflavored, unsweetened, and in a bag with the bulk deal they have going now. It tastes like crap, but you cant beat the price

Voice of reason and Gears I think you for your advice but my problem is, according to bb.com, that the shipping price is now 60$! And my country's economy is going down the crapper so 60$ now are like 30$ were a few months ago.. Also i'd have to pay some amount to the customs and value-added taxes (which are 24,5% of total value) so this is way to expensive for me right now.. thats why I'm looking for something to replace the shakes, but it has to be easy in the making and quick to go down

hahahaha, I recently said to my buddies (which are not into weightlifting, they are actually boozing pieces of sjit who couldnt care less about their diet and exercise as long as they dont become fat) that if our country's situation becomes so bad that we'd be waiting in line for our 1time a day soup with bread I'd rather eat placentas and eventually turn to cannibalism. (ofcourse I'd eat all the animals Id find before that) GOTTA GET MY MEAT!

I only ever heard good things about the economy of iceland...is this a recent problem? They're always praised for their use of geothermal energy and use of natural resources. Non existant poverty, and I think they were listed above the US in standard of living at one point by quite a bit. I know aluminum plants were moving there to take advantage of cheep energy from hydro and geothermal power. What went wrong?

Voice of Reason, I live in Iceland, what kind of protein is this?
Kratos, lately Iceland has been going down the drain.
Two of our three biggest banks have been taken over by the goverment because they were going bankrupt. If you wish to know why its because our banks took short-time loans from other countries, and provided the people in iceland fat long-time loans.. and then when the other countries want their money.. woops, they cant pay them back.
85,000 people owned a share in a bank called Landsbankinn, and when the goverment took over the bank their shares became worthless. Now 85000 may seem like a small number, but Iceland only has a population of about 330.000 people so it's quite a bit!

this is about how a few buisness men in iceland (the wealthiest guys) almost printed money by screwing the system and shareholders.

I think some beans have a fair ammt of protein in them too, although carbs too but are very cheap bought dry in a bag. Just know the protein to carb ratio when eating them is all.

Join the club Ireland has have to the same thing with the banks.
-
10-09-2008, 07:06 PM #24
^^^ Ive heard about that... What do they use in Ireland? Do they use the Euro?
-
10-09-2008, 07:11 PM #25
Yep we have the Euro the only people that didn't sign up for years ago where the British and the Swedish. But I think they are thinking of buying into it now but not 100% sure.
Ireland has 6% unemployment at the minute and it's growing day by day. Getting very hard to find ajob etc. So the government bailed out the banks. Even though some of them made serious profits last year like 500 million euro each which is a sick amount of money. But in saying that 2007 was a record year for spending in general in Ireland and now where paying the price for it.
No matter how stupid people are they will eventually learn that they cannot keep on spending and spending without it biting them in the ass eventually. Which it has now.
The car market has nearly halted. Car prices are being slashed thus putting the cars on HP into negative equity etc etc just snowballs really.
