"Bigger, Stronger, Faster" Star Passes Away
Local pro wrestler Mike Bell dies at 37
December 15, 2008
Former pro wrestler Mike Bell, an Arlington High School graduate and Poughkeepsie native, died Sunday afternoon at age 37, the wrestling website Figure Four Online reported late Sunday night.
Bell wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment in the late 1990s and after that, Extreme Championship Wrestling. He performed at Mid-Hudson Civic Center for both promotions.
He was heavily featured in "Bigger, Stronger, Faster," a critically acclaimed documentary directed and starring his younger brother Chris, which explored steroid use in sports. The movie had candid interviews with both Bell brothers, as well as their parents, Rosemary and Sheldon and brother Mark.
Mike Bell was a football captain at Arlington and later played on scholarship at the University of CincinnatiLast edited by Panzerfaust; 12-15-2008 at 12:11 PM.

I am betting this is related to pills etc.
In the movie the Dad stated he expected this to happen...watch people jump on AAS as the cause.***No source checks!!!***

Of course they will. The guy was really depressed from what I saw in the movie, but unless another reason is given steroids will be the culprit. I'm sure even if another reason is given, many will still make out steroids to be the culprit.
Condolences to the family.

I think his problems were deep rooted. In the movie, it was clear to see he had issues. He was 35 and still trying to be a WWF star. I'm not one to judge others dreams, it's okay to dream, but his life became one from what I saw.
Stinky did it right, he liked his powerlifting, but it did not take over his life. He was still a devoted husband and father. Big Bell who appeared to love his wife, did not have the same devotion.
With out AS to keep this guys dream alive though, he would have been addicted to somthing and died a long time ago. He had the 1 attempt anyway, but that won't play into the stories.

I agree. That dude suffered from some sort of depression. I know the family will blame steroids for this but considering his past he probably committed suicide.

I'm not even that ****ed up, and I can't find a girl that will tolerate me.
Between the consistant begging for anal sex and always being right, I can't keep a girl very long at all.
I mean it's not like I'm trying to be hulk hogan or anything.
I wonder if it changes Chris' thoughts on AS at all though? Or Stinkys? It does not seem like it would, but I'm intrested to hear any statments that come out from the families.
I'm thinking towards he did this, harmed himself. Remember he always said he'd rather be dead than be average, and did have an attempt.

This is a real shame. The father called it and said that nothing was going to get him on a 'healthy' path in life. I really feel bad for the wife and the Bell family.
Who know's what took his life but it WILL be pinned on anabolics by the media.
It's also a shame that all of Lil' Bell's hard work to bring the truth out there will be for not. The general public will never view his film honestly now. They will all look at it and say 'well his brother died young and he did steroids so that's what killed him.'

Every article that I come across keeps saying: Cause of death unknown. Weird that it has not gotten out yet.

Mike Bell probably just ruined his brothers movie, if he killed himself.

seems he was in a home for junkies.......
found this on thefightnetwork:
Chris Bell posted the following message today on his brother's passing:
My older brother Michael aka MAD DOG in the wrestling world, passed away yesterday from unknown causes. He was residing at a sober living place in Orange County and was celebrating 60 days of being clean and sober from any drugs or alcohol. His roommates found him dead in his room at about 2:30pm yesterday and he was pronounced dead on the spot by medical experts. The cause of death is unknown and does not appear to be self inflicted.
My brother was my true hero growing up and I always wanted to be big and strong like him. He was the inspiration for me to make my movie Bigger Stronger Faster* because I saw how the American Dream negatively affected his sense of self worth. I will always remember my brother as the nicest guy in the world that sometimes got caught up in the wrong things. I am so sad right now over his passing. He was on his way to getting his life back on track and he was taken away from us at such a young age. My family thanks everyone who has sent emails and called. It really means a lot.
I Love you Michael.

In the movie his eyes looked like he was on speed...not necessarily meth but maybe pills...add some booze and more pills to come down from the speed ,maybe some blow for good measure and you have a hell of a coroners report...Then throw in the fact he used juice and forget everyrthing else...juice killed him!~
