sleeping pills
I took a sample of this pre workout supplement and now I'm wired. I took it about 4 hours ago and need to go to sleep soon. Would it be ok to take an over the counter sleeping pill to help me go to sleep?

Such as diphenhydramine? Sure. You can take them once in awhile. Just don't take them too often, otherwise you will become dependent on them to go to sleep. But once every so often shouldn't be a problem.

Just stay up all night and be productive, its what I usually do when I cant sleep.
Or take the diphen and be tired all day tommorow, well either way you'll prob still be tired.

I don't take them often. I just have to work early in the morning and want to get 8 hours of sleep but I won't be able to sleep naturally anytime soon lol. I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any adverse affects

diphinehydramine is pretty cool if used in moderation. But tonight, its all about ****ing cramming as much redbull in me as safely as possible. I am running through information for hte first time.....its multiple choice so I have a ok chance at this. Hopefully I will have good mental function and retain everything. This is soooooooooo much information I have to learn in the next 4.5 hours. THis is a true mental workout right now. its all about sheer willpower at this point. BUt I am hurting bad though. bout to put on rocky 4 final fight and listen to that over and over for motivation

I am taking the USMLE in a week, and I'm incredibly nervous. I asked around for Adderal, but since I'm currently living in my parent's house--not at my medical school--I could not find any Adderal. Never tried it before, but I wanted some! Now it's too late...I'm going a bit crazy....really wish I spent more time studying. I may be working at a McDonalds now if this medical thing doesn't work out. :'( Would you live fries with that?

usually I pull it off. I was up for almost 2 days straight for a comprehensive organic chem final. He wasnt exactly out to get us on it, but I got an A on it and pulled my grade up to a B from a C.
I GROCELY underestimated this bio exam I got tomarrow. ALot of it is actually review, but for this semester, I am seeing this material for hte first time tongiht. I got 4 more hours to pull this thing off. I have enough time to just make it.
I am in a little bit of trouble here. ALl I can do is keep my composure and just get R done

I think IM gonna be aright. I got 30 minutes to go to finish an easy chapter. Than three hours to take on the biggest baddest chapter the last one. glycolysis through oxidative phosphorylation. Its all review, but still alot of shit to get straight. YOu know, one glucose molecule yields this much atp, this much NADH, this much etc etc etc. Its also like the 4th class I have had this info, but its stil alot of shit to get straight
edit- we got to know every step for glycolysis, and every step for the kreb cycle. every thing their is to know about the kreb cycle.
Pyruvate dehy inactivated by NADH, ATP, acetyl Coa and activated by NAD plus, Coa, AMP. COa transfers acetal group to pyrvuavete. you lose co2 and get a NADH and your molecule is acetyal coa
acytal Coa with oxa makes citrate minus a water. regulated by ATP
citrate to iso is boring
iso to alpha minus CO2 plus NADH
alpha to succ coa minus CO2 plus NADH regulated by ATP and NADH
succ coa to succ gives a GTP- subtrate level phosphorylation gives ATP
succ to furmate gives FADH2
furmate to malate minus water
oxidation of malate and you got your final NADH
and thats all I have to say about that. thats what we need to know about the kreb cycle. this is about 1/100 of the info on the exam in 90 minutes.Last edited by IronReload04; 02-06-2009 at 05:26 AM.
