Australia is known for its bushfires especially where I come from in Victoria. But this is a disaster on an unimaginable scale. RIP all those poor people who burned to death over the weekend and there are many more to come.

I have Alot of family members that live where thoughs fires are, infact some of their farms are burnt to the ground.

Its just terrible that not alot can be done to stop these fires.

So what caused this?
In the other thread, someone said it was deliberately lit.

If so, is it possible to catch whomever it was?

yea some of the fires were deliberately lit police say...
but the problem is, its like 47 degrees celsius there, no rain and high winds...
heappps of dry grass and trees every where.

Devastating news Kale .... I just heard on the news that there are at least 200 dead with lots missing and many injured! My sympathy to each and everyone affected by the dreadful fires.

I heard on the news......today that the fires could have been started by kids...dont know how true that is...but his could make it worse.....and they just keep burning...
