My parter's work out schedule and I hate it

The kid knows his stuff. He won Mr. Teen Michigan when he was 16 competing against 19 year olds. He really normally looks into things.

His work out schedule is driving me nuts and normally I just let him do it, and I just bust my ass working out.

    Monday:
    Arms - Bi's tri's

    Tuesday:
    Legs

    Wednesday
    Off

    Thursday:
    Chest /Shoulders

    Friday:
    Back

    It makes no sense.

I do cardio 4 days a week. If I work my legs on tuesday, they are sore until Friday.

I'd like to work Legs FRIDAY and let them rest over the weekend. Work chest and back, THEN arms after later in the week.

Chest and shoulders on the SAME day. That's too much pressing.

I keep telling him 1 core lift per day. Squat, dead, bench, military. Those lifts each should be on their own days.

I had to stop doing shoulders and chest on the same day because I couldn't even throw a football without looking like a girl throwing with her opposite hand

This is what I used to do.

My brother and I tried to lift together, but he'd follow some half assed split.

So, we'd just go together and basically do our own thing.

Chest and shoulders on the same day is horrible for me, the rotators just get raped and I can barely move my arms the next day.

Did my own thing, did chest today.

****ed up my shoulder on incline.

Finally putting on the size I wanted and am stronger than I thought I'd ever be and now my shoulder is all messed up.

I'll be doing light flys for the next 3 months.

Got frustrated doing 30 reps on peck deck cause it's the only thing that did not make my shoulder hurt. Just walked out.

I actually recently reworked my program to have 6 separate days for the 6 main lifts (or I at least consider them the main lifts): Flat Bench, Squat, Deadlift, Rows, Chin-ups, and Military Press. Seventh Day is rest. Those aren't done in that order, btw. I also fit in direct calf, bicep, tricep, medial delt, posterior delt, trap, forearm and ab work. This program I've been playing around with for quite some time, and it works wonders. I don't work any 2 exercises in one day that might affect the other. This way, I can always be fresh for any exercise I do.

I used to do chest and shoulders and its was idiotic. After blasting chest, my military press was god awful, used to hide my face in the back on the smith lol. I don't see how that combo can yield good results. It's like doing legs than trying to run 3 miles afterwards.

I like to go 5 days cause I don't like to work a big muscle then switch to a small. I just don't feel I can hit it all in 4 days hard enough.

    I was thinking:

    Chest
    Back
    Shoulders
    Arms
    Legs

Seriously... And I can't stand it when people make it out to be more than what it is.

"My legs hurt so bad the next day, they should put me in a cast. Theres no way I could do cardio like that, ect."

Who seriously gets that sore every week? You would have to be incredibly inconsistant with legs or in absolute terrible shape.

My legs, chest, and arms get sore every single work out.

If they don't, I change something.

I don't like to run with sore legs, I don't like to work chest with sore triceps either.

Just makes more sense to me to add legs in the end of the week to avoid it.

for real.....a nice medium intensity cardio should feel good and help with recovery.

other than that, that split isnt terrible, but its doable. I would never do arms on their own day because they get hit just fine in compound exercises. The most perfect split I can come up with is this. what I use

    monday- chest tris
    tuesday- off
    wed- back/bis
    thursday- off
    friday- delts and legs
    sat- off
    sun-off

notice....I grow outside the gym not in it.

Yeah I really don't blame you, the whole chest/shoulder thing seems a little rough.
