Bikers : heres a tank slapper

Anyone ever had this ? I got it once before i installed my steering damper while racing someone. Front wheel came off the ground at the line, i leaned forward and kept on the gas, came down at around the end of 2nd and it began. I was lucky enough the road was wide and i just road it out, scared the @$@ out of me.

Best way out of a tank slapper is to do another wheelie. There was a vid a while back from some moto gp race. The guy was doing upwards of 100, came off both sides of the bike, held onto the bars, and somehow straightened it out. Mofo had skill.

wow, spectacular helmet cam! I had a tank slapper on my dirt bike, riding beside the highway, doin about 70kmh and hit a log in the grass, my hands came of the bars, my chest slapped into the tank, i managed to save it but i had a heart attack, lol

no way to any of this ... i guess you can confirm this with big but ... me strapped on any thing with a huge power to weight ratio is a bad idea...

sold my bikes a few years back i'll never own one again ...

Have to agree. They have all the disadvantages of riding a bike without any of the advantages. Bikes are to go fast so that when you hit something it's painless.

Tank slappers are scary bud. My uncle nearly was killed because of one. Had one lost control and was thrown off the bike into a ditch.

I did the same thing he did but it drug me for 378 feet. took all skin off hand, heres my leg. This was at 130mph also. you can see my hand, like a dumbass i put my hand down to stop rolling. WRONG MOVE. I just tucked up and rolled after that. Cant see it but my left forarm looks just like my leg. That was on my 2006 gsx-r 1000 turboed. If you look close in my avatar you can see suzuki tattooed down my ribs

raped the leg up, put a snow glove on the hand long sleves for the forarm. and went riding the next day. Till the meds wore off, then I was trying to take the whole bottle haha.
