If we agreed to and I knew for a fact that they chose the split ball, I would split.

However, I would tell them I didn't trust them and was going to choose steal. I'd tell them to choose split and then I would give them half the winnings. So either they choose split and then take a chance of getting money, or choose steal and are guaranteed nothing.

I've watched a few of them right now (just look on youtube)...it seems that you should always pick "steal". Logically speaking, there is nothing to lose by selecting "steal". If the other person had chosen "split", then you will get all the money; if that person had selected "steal", then you wouldn't have gotten the money no matter what you selected, so might as well make sure the other person doesn't get money either! I can't see any upside to selecting "split".

I agree. I like my idea though. That way you are guaranteed not to look like a doosh.
