Rookie Mistake
So, I've got some experience training, and I am pretty confident in the weight room. However, I think I made one of the biggest mistakes I ever made this morning about two hours ago.
I got really pumped about training, and I work night shift so it isn't unusual for me to train at 2-3AM. So I ran to my garage where all my equipment is and starting hitting it hard. For whatever reason, my trap work wasn't quite going as planned, but nothing major. I figured I'd make up for it with some heavy hang cleans, one of my favorite exercises.
I powered through my cleans, which I didn't do as good on as I wanted, but it wasn't anything to freak out about. I was still really pumped, so I came up with the genius idea to do some heavy deads.
Three mistakes were made here IMO:
1)Heavy cleans and heavy deads on the same day
2)One right after the other
3)Cleans done before deads
Maybe some of you fellers are a big enough stud to do this, but once I got done with my cleans, my adrenaline level and grip were both sapped. I don't know WTF made me think deads were a good idea. They weren't. I do not recommend this course of action. Train and learn.
