That would be awesome live car stunts...
Love the muscle cars and the skyline.

Terrible series of films. Ruined the once cool underground car/street racing culture. Flooded it with a bunch of ricers and thugs who consider "tuning" to be putting every light they can find on their cars. The films are not even close to being technically accurate, and the writing is terrible.
As for the chicks...they don't even get naked. I'll stick to porn.
-

lol thats not very accurate... only in the first one do they portray real ricers, with the civics and the vdub. the second one opens with a skyline, a supra, an rx 7, and an s2000. the first two are epic cars for racing, rx 7s have a huge following, and s2000s are pretty boring. also, the evo they use is faster than almost all cars you'd see racing on the street.
but i really found this one to be the worst. the middle seemed to take forever, and there wasn't as much racing as the first 3. is it really that interesting to see them driving across a desert? no.... but still worth seeing.
best part is when brian is looking for his new car in the impound, and goes, oh a (some nickname for skyline) i crashed one of those, i'll take that one.
shortly after
so which one do you want? i want all of them!
-
i was just happy to see that after 3 movies they came up with a really clever title.

One of the worst films ive ever seen...

Ok...judging from the Mclaren-Mercedes F1 car in your avatar, I'm guessing you've got some sort knowledge when it comes to cars. The cars depicted in the films are all show cars. The Skyline was disgraced with an APC sticker. If you know anything about the ricey tuner market, you know APC is a company that makes shitty tail lights and cheap ass bolt-on fart cans. I beg you to find something in APC's inventory meant to go on a Skyline GTR.
Functionally tuned cars don't end up looking like the cars in the movies with a bunch of cool lights and funky shit all over them. Check out JUN Motorsports from Japan, look up Smokey Nagata on youtube...these are REAL tuners, they produce REAL cars that break records. Spoon racing is another legitimate tuner with a long racing heritage. Yes, the movie depicts models that are legendary...but they use horrible examples of them. Show cars and trailer queens.
If you want to see real tuned cars going at it...check out the Best Motoring series. It is a video magazine from Japan that's been around for at least 15 years. A number of their DVD's are available for rent from Netflix. Watch one of them, and you'll quickly see the difference.
The TF and TF series is too ridiculous for me to watch. Perhaps if I didn't know anything about cars, I'd be into it...but I can't bring myself to watch this garbage, much less pay money for it. This might be me being overly biased, I did afterall spend a good portion of my life getting to 100% completion in Gran Turismo 4.
As for F1...Jensen Button, he doubled his career wins in 2 races...who would've thought?Last edited by Nooomoto; 04-06-2009 at 07:32 PM.

haha well yes i know they make it more appealing to the masses, but thats hollywood for you.
i am in awe you got 100% on GT4. around 50 or 60s i got so bored of losing and not being able to pass the super license i gave up haha.... the only thing i have is all the black racecars from like the 100th week or something. and the "f1" car you get for winning the 24hr nurbergring ( i know i butchered that)
jensen button rofl.... i would have never picked them to win ANYTHING after seeing honda in the past. this new set of rules really threw a wrench into the season.
hamilton put it pretty well in a post interview from australia. he basically said he never saw it coming either, and that the brawn diffusers are so much better than mclarens, that even with basically the same engine (+kers for hamilton and all his skill, which is vast) they are still slower than that tiny team. i think after they get it sorted out, they will be back at the top. ferrari is looking horrible and really doesn't show any progress. their kers has caused problems both races, and i think massa is overrated.
kovelainan needs to give up his spot to someone that can get points because mclaren will never win a constructors with him. and yes, i pride myself on some points of car knowledge.

haha i watched the first one on tv last night. i forgot how cheesy it was

Yeah, Brawn and 1 other team I believe, found that loophole in the rules that allowed them to put that rear diffuser on there, giving them MUCH more downforce than those without it. I love all the tricky BS that goes on in F1, it's so entertaining. I'm sure Mclaren-Mercedes won't let that advantage go on for long. Ferrari is again plagued with their typical reliability problems. Did you see Massa having to jump out of the car so he doesnt get shocked to death from the malfunctioning KERS? LOL. Plus, Kimi's car looked awfully twitchy in Malaysia.
I think Alonso is done winning championships for a while. It was obvious when Hamilton came on with Mclaren his first year that Alonso wasn't pleased with his presence. I never really liked Alonso, he seems like a dick. I screamed at God when him and Schumacher were battling it out in 2006 in Brazil for the title, and Schumacher got a flat tire!!!! That was some of the most impressive racing I've ever seen. They were both going balls to the wall.

yes it was, and win or lose, no one will ever touch michael as the best. senna might be mentioned as second, but we all know how that ended... i actually think alonso seems like a pretty chill guy. he seems down to earth and seems to really take to all the fans in his hometown who go crazy for him. there aren't many drivers i don't like. can't think of any haha..
wasn't that kimi who had to jump out of the car? either way, yes i saw it. and the williams car that caught on fire from it haha... i think its a good idea, but overall, kers is too limited to actually benefit a team on most tracks (tighter ones).
almost all teams have A diffuser, its just that brawn and someone else have a very BIG diffuser. they said it basically put them on par with last seasons downforce, and other teams have about 5% less, and to them, thats unheard of. also, they said that issue was being brought up on april 14th at an FIA meeting.
the really shocking thing to me, was that they estimated 20 million dollars to rework the diffusers to be on par with brawns or to adhere to the new regulations. compared to most seasons, thats nothing (a few years ago toyota led the way with 400m in spending over the winter. the lowest team was around 250m) but they are planning on implementing a 30 million cap on team spending, including salaries, which can be around 10 million for the bigger names. i think that would really kill the sport especially if they continue to make new regulations that incur massive changes on the cars.

I think it was Massa, Kimi hit the wall in Malaysia.
Overall, I think there's WAY too much officiating in F1. It seems to get worse every season. A lot of nitpicking going on by the FIA, and not enough hardcore racing. Limiting team budgets to 30m is just ludicrous. We're talking about the most technologically advanced form of racing there is. New technologies are constantly tested and bred on F1 tracks. Of course it is going to be more expensive than all other forms of racing. Not only that, but these drivers are the best the world has to offer...30 million to spend on designing and constructing two cars, maintenance, pit crews, etc...not even getting into drivers' salary...30m is just not enough.
As far as KERS...it's a really cool idea, with poor implementation. The system is too heavy to provide any real benefit gained by the 6.7 80 hp boost from a full charge. I think further development is needed...maybe by next season we will see it start to make a real difference.

the ferrari driver i'm thinking of was during a friday practice. and i'm pretty sure at least in that instance, it was kimi, since they commented on the lack of kers in his qualifying sessions.
i don't know how much more they can do with it. big batteries will never be light, and there is a point when it would become unfair, like 15 seconds of 150hp boost, and also where is becomes too dangerous. i'd imagine the bigger the volts and amps in there, the greater the risk of a fire, like has been shown already. also, unless its on a straight, the lack of downforce can cause the cars to just spin out under that much more power (they are already around 800bhp, +80 more) either way, they'll find a way to work it out. unless of course the budgets are axed like that.
i know its crazy they could try to implement such a tight restriction on the teams. besides the money, they limit offseason practicing, and cut down very hard on use of the windtunnels.
they brought up the subject of over officiating at the last race, and i definitely agree. flavio was pretty blunt with the same idea, and it makes no sense since its been dominating for years, and one of the SAFEST sports out there already. hopefully the fia can back down on that...

I refuse to watch these films. The original F&F is a complete rip off of POINT BREAK...Warchild probably feels me on this.
Paul Walkers character= Johnny Utah
Vin Diesel's character= Bodhi
...It really pisses me off because few people are familiar with Point Break and F&F gets a lot of credit that it does not deserve.Last edited by Gaspari1255; 04-06-2009 at 10:35 PM.

if you look at it in a purely fictional movie that was made to entertain with its unbelievalbe and impossible stunts.... then it was entertaining.
if you want to dissect the cars and story line... then you have too much time on your hands. lol
its a movie

Are you sure the tanks were NOS products? As I recall the tanks in the Eclipse were black and all of Holley's NOS tanks are anodized blue.
Second, how exactly did his tanks blow after use? Less n2o in the tank = higher tank pressure? I don't think so! On top of that, the tanks were in the back seat, no where near the passenger footwell.
I think the real question remains the explosion of the Eclipse. How does nitrous oxide, a non flammable gas, combust?
I like the fast and furious movies but I also like analyzing the content.
