    Ipod / Computer Whizzes Needed

Okay, here's my problem... I have an Ipod nano (think it's first generation, got it back in 06) And it has worked great for years. I've recently been using it on my laptop (Asus something, pretty high end I guess) and have had no problems till now. ABout a few days ago it stopped recognizing it through my USB cord. I've looked up trouble shooting on it, I downloaded latest version of itunes, switched USB ports, turned off the power saving mode on each port, manually put the ipod in that.. disc mode or whatever its called and still nothing. It just randomly stopped recognizing my ipod and it's driving me insane cause I need new workout music. Has anyone else come across this problem? There's really no other ways I can find through the internet to help fix it...

you could try restarting your ipod helper

unplug your ipod and turn off itunes
    right click on My Computer
go down to manage and left click
left click on services and applications
    left click on services
right click on ipod service, then click stop, wait a couple seconds, then click start
now restart itunes and plug in your ipod

Have you tried a hard reset on the Ipod itself. Hold the center and top button down together for 10-15 sec. Also take some compressed air and blow out the port on your Ipod. Sometimes mine will get some pocket fuzz in it and it will not sync.
    good luck

    try the hard reset first.

then try a different ipod cable.

then hook it up to a different computer

if none of them work its time for a new ipod
