Quick question on boot care.

I have these old pair of boots that are really starting to smell, I have changed the insoles, put dryer sheets in them and put them on a boot dryer to help get the smell out, foot powder in them. I am running out of ideas but I really dont want to throw them out they are only like 7 years old and have sentimental value. Anything else I can do to help with the smell?

yeah might have to. They smell but I am hoping someone can give me an idea that might help with the odor that I havent tried yet.

take them to a boot store and have the insides replaced.....

or burn them....i think in the 7 years, you got ur money worth...

I am thinking about it they have been resoled twice now. I think its like the bottom of it holding in the smell from getting wet and what not

I am going to bring them up to a boot store tommarow and see what they can do with them, right now I have to leave them in the garage. I have dryer sheets in them and have them on the boot dryer to see if that helps it helped some the first time around.

The only time my boots start to smell when I dont change socks since i start doing it I have 9 yrs old boots that never smell. U may want to change socks more often .

Ok, thanks for hint. I have beat the hell out of them tho, esp getting caught in rainstorms and what not I just hope its not the leather cause they arent super water proof anymore, so I hope its not the leather rotting or something. I think from them getting wet it might be the inside of them rotting or something. I will deffiantly start changing my socks more tho

Also wash them in washer. Put it under the sun and make sure they are fully dried see if that helps.

I use the diswasher on shoes, IDK why but it just works better for me...

Bake them in an oven at about 250 degrees for 24 hours. It should be sufficient to kill any smell-producing organisms without damaging the leather. Of course, you'll want to remove any plastic or rubber parts of the boots.
