well just decided to stay @ my parents house

Well I went to look @ apt's. They were around 500-600 a month. I can live at my parents house for free. I was thinking I can gut it out awhile. They really don't bother me and vice versa, plus I work all the time. I am also single. I was thinking my credit isn't the best right now. I can put my money towards fixing that and just save money to put downs towards a house or condo in a year or so. My thing is when i meet some girl, I really hate to tell them I am 34 and living back at home.. I guess I can swallow my pride and get over it and look at the big picture... Plus I know my parents are struggling with bills... so some money i can give them will help out... any suggestions...

mate i had to move back to my moms a few years ago when i was 30.there is no shame as long as you have plenty of space and privacy.my mom has a very big house and i got a whole floor to myself, that made it a lot easier.

but due to the worlds economy no body would blame you.

    uhh yeah...

how about "gut it out" by moving out and living on your own? plus, if you can't cover $500 a month for rent, how will you pay a mortgage that will be very similar? not to mention a down payment on a decent house will be a couple years worth of rent money

No suggestion . It's the sign of the times for many . In Michigan we have the highest unemployment rate. That is only those receiving unemployment benefits .
it's higher if you count those that benefits have run out . I guess be glad you have a option to look at housing rather than struggle to find a job to fill basic needs . If parents are tolerable then you are doing great ?

Do what you need to do being the way times are now. What will you do when you wanna screw? I like to hump a few times a week. Do your parents mind the 2-6min of noise? If not then its all good!!

You gotta do what you gotta do. Especially now with the economy how it is. I'm not gonna judge you and if your parents need help and you can help them then more power to you. That's a good thing to do. Just have the mentality it's not permanent. Save while your there and before you know it you'll be out.

bro, I sold my house after i got tired of making $5,000 payments a month in north CA. I don't have much privacy but shit I live for free and I get to enjoy their company. My mom has breakfest and dinner for me ready everyday.

I mean do what you gotta do, it's just my opinion, I bought my house at 21 and can make it on my own so I want someone that can do the same. But I understand people falling on hard times, the economy is shit. But if you have goals and its just temp. then don't stress about it.

bro don't worry about Kat, If a women loves you she will regardless of where you live. Let me tell you this, save you're cash and buy something nice in the future with a big down payment. I know alot of people that might have house but no money, I got money and stress free on bills but I live with my parents. I say fu.ck it and save ur money.

Just an update... I am going to buy a condo in Jan... why pay rent until then. I know somebody who is going to need to sell one in jan who is buying a house.. so I guess I can continue to be a loser until then...
so the rent I was going to pay until then was 600x6 months will save me 3600.00

Damn, that is some cheap rent. I have always paid over 1 k...and some of those were 1 bdrm (own now though). I don't think I could live at home with mom/dad unless things were really really bad...

It makes more sense to move back save up as much as possible for a down payment than blowing money on rent.

Absolutely live with your parents it is NOT a big deal and I and anyone mature would swallow his oversized ego and do it, plus I love my parents and we have a great relationship.
So I don't understand peoples disagreements towards it.

Also, don't listen to KatsMeow and have her make you insecure towards women. Its a very narrow and quick reached statement.

I know a lot of very financially successful men who have lived or live now with their parents, have girlfriends (GREAT gf) and do great for themselves.
It completely depends on who you are.

If you plan on leaching off them then indeed, stay away from home. Parents will always treat you to certain things and they LIKE doing it, so wtf? Are you that proud not to do it?

Plus you get to be around your parents and be there for them more, makes no sense not to unless a) you hate your parents b) your a bum or c) your so insecure you cant deflate your ego enough to do it.
    So yeh thats my opinion.

Dude, get out of your parents' and grow up. I mean, you do have a job right? Or at 34 a career possibly? If your parents need some cash take it to them over sunday dinner.
And i agree with Kat. At 34 i wouldn't even consider telling someone i lived at home. And how could i tell some broad that i want to bone, "well care to come my parents' house for a drink?" hahahahahahaha.......Hell fvckin no!!!!
Go get your place bro. hahahaha....

If i didn't hated my father i'd stay at my mom's house till my 30's too. If you're confortable do it. About the girls stuff. Well if they are so smart and picky, THEY should have their own place right? Problem solved. Plus you'll automatically exclude the golddiggers.
