Hurricane names

This is from an email circulating but apparently has recently featured on radio as well.

Well, it appears our African-American friends have found yet something else
to be pissed about. A black congressman (this would be Sheila Jackson Lee,
of Houston ), reportedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all
Caucasian sounding names.

She would prefer some names that reflect African-American culture such as
Chamiqua, Tanisha, Woeisha, Shaqueal, and Jamal. I am NOT making this
up! She would also like the weather reports to be broadcast in 'language'
that street people can understand because one of the problems that happened
in New Orleans was, that black people couldn't understand the seriousness of
the situation, due to the racially biased language of the weather report.

I guess if the weather person says that the winds are going to blow at 140+
MPH, that's too hard to understand I can hear it now:

A weatherman in New Orleans says... Wazzup, mutha-fukkas! Hehr-i-cane
Chamiqua be headin' fo' yo ass like Leroy on a crotch rocket! Bitch be a
category fo'! So, turn off dem chitlins, grab yo' chirren, leave yo crib,

well obvious on the radio they showed how stupid this womans demands are...why not chinese or spanish? and if we did change it to a minority names we would then get blamed for associating minority names with destruction aka the hurricane!

if you can read past the silliness of it all i think the comments on the NO weatherman are pretty funny

Sheila Jackson Lee should have been thrown out congress years ago when she hit the security guard for asking to see her pass. this lady is the definition of what is wrong with this country.
could anyone imagine if a white congress member stated something along these line...

to be honest there seems to be a mix over the past few years and years to come.. ya the names are mostly none ethnic, but lets be honest who the **** cares...

and not every black person has an ethnic or an African American name.. this lady is just so far out there she wants to bitch about everything being racial.... hell her own name (Sheila) is a named storm (Pacific fiji), just not in the Atlantic.
