The deep thought thread
Ok, I hate when I start thinking like this because it weirds my thought process out for a few days lol...
Anyway, don't you guys find it funny how we all are running around this planet and don't have a ****ing clue why were HERE?!

That question has never bothered me personally. Although that is mainly due to a religious perspective on life... I guess in the long run, who cares why? Just make the most of it! Thats my .02

I find it interesting that so many people believe humans are so important as to have some ''great perpose' that we can't figure out. Most people are born, get old, then die without anything more interesting happening to them.Even the ones who do great deads and create history die and their great deads are often forgotten not long after them.Live your life as best you can, do every thing to make your life as fun and comfortables as possible without negativly impacting others as far as is possible and you will have lived as good a life as most of us can ever hope for.JMO.

Think about this......
How do we know that we are all seeing the same colors? We are all trained a name to a specific color but no-one can see what colors we are seeing through our own eyes. So JBM could be looking at an object he was taught was red - I could also be looking at the same object but be seeing blue - THO..... I was taught that color was RED. So my "red" is different from JBM's "red"
It works in society because we're taught names to colors but no-one can see what "colors" each individual person is seeing.
just some food for thought..... I've asked some relatively smart people in my life about this and they agree with me...... havn't talked with a real doc or scientist tho lol

i dont believe there is some 'greater purpose' for humans to be on the earth.
i think we just exist by either an astroid with some organism that brought life here, or another race from another gallaxy brought or left an organism here and thus life developed.
i dont think there is any great meaning of/to life.
we exist as far as we each are concerned, in the world we perceive.
hummm...

Pocketbattleship is spot on.
The problem with humans is that humans think they are the most important thing in all of creation. What does it matter why we're here. In a million years time we wont be. And guess what? The world will still be rotating..

LOL
I can see what a lot of you are saying. Whenever I get a real solid drive to succeed or accomplish something I know is outside of my grasp, is when I start to think about it. No answers, we have nothing, just a bunch of people running around thinking that life is all about how much money you can make and how many people you can **** over or kiss ass to get it.
The other day I was in the dry sauna and a guy comes in and he happens to be a priest and he goes on telling me about demons and ect ect how I should seek salvation... Then about 15 minutes into the conversation somehow were talking about hooters girls and he says he used to date one that was 19 and he was over 40 recovering alcoholic. It makes me sick, these are the people that supposedly have some direction for us? Bottom line, nobody knows. It's all just a sick joke and we'd be plain ignorant to even THINK we know what the hell is going on.
My girlfriend/wife, working out, my endless struggle/desire for money, watch my family pass, leave kids behind to face the same struggles, then my own death. So if everything goes right, this is my life....
I just wish that something, anything showed hard proof of a god of some sort, a real law to live by... Anything to give people hope... I mean how can someone believe in anything when you have every scientist basically telling you that the bible is not accurate, tons of different people claiming their own god/s. You take a look outside, and you can't imagine that this was all just a random act.. It can't be all for nothing.Last edited by xnotoriousx; 09-08-2009 at 11:42 AM.

Even nuclear war wouldn'tknock the earth out of its orbit of the sun. We'd obliterate all life no doubt, but a few thousand years later the earth would start to regrow. Asteroids have hit our planet with the force of 1000 nuclear bombs and the planet is still here.
Humans are just fortunate to be here. We should enjoy it while we can.

This is the matrix .
Your a battery providing energy to machines .
Man destroyed all civilization long ago .

There is no meaning, unless you make one...like helping the poor, etc.
Other than that, we just live our lives, then die, becoming part of the carbon cycle. The end. And the earth moves on without you...
*puts gun to head*

-

because if you think about it... all life started out as single celular organisms... and pretty much evolved from there.

It all boils down to enjoy the time you have here on this beautiful planet, live, love and just be grateful that we have a life to live.
That being said, I leave you with a video. Just soak in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJePNFkkvFk&feature=fvw

I've already thought about battleships concept and I do think its obvious and true.
But its what I think about after the concept that confuses me.
I look at this world and a lot of times I see nothing but robots. Thats really what I feel like I'm looking at all day long no matter where I am or what I'm doing.
People driving to the supermarket, people going to school, people working, people driving who can't drive. And sometimes I think "wow, how fvckn wierd would it be if everything just stopped?" Kinda like in "The happening".
Like if everyone literally just stopped moving at the same time, and asked themself "what the fvck am I doing"?
And "why am I doing it"?
Cause when I get into deep thoughts thats what I think about.
100 years from now EVERYONE posting on this forum WILL be dead.
And yes all those "great" things we did will become distant memories, and even possibly forgotten (unless you're Einstein)
And even look at Einstein. He had no way of knowing when he died that people would remember him today. It almost makes doing ANYTHING (good or bad) seem worthless.
I just question a lot how after the industrial revolution, humans got so brainwashed into the rat race you see today. I don't think its right. I like the idea of the great philosophers 2000 years ago (plato, socrates and what not) sitting around, not rushing to go to work, but talking about life and happiness and peace.
When do we talk about that shit today?
We don't. We work everyday for 30-40 years till we have a heart attack and die. Thats our life. We pay professionals too much money for 40 mins of their time just so we can talk about this shit.
Sometimes I just hate the whole rat race mentality of this world. I just don't understand why the rush? Why is everyone always in such a big hurry? Why do I find MYSELF always speeding to get somewhere so I'm not late? But why when all this is happening, do I have this desire to just stop people in their tracks and talk to them?
Maybe its cause I like people, maybe its because I feel like everyone is neglected due to technology, but its like I don't get enough satisfaction from my job or school. Even if I was exactly where I wanted to be, I still feel like its useless. PEOPLE ARE ALIVE. My job isn't. I wanna be around things that are moving and breathing. But it seems like we're all so fvckn brainwashed to be in a constant state of rush, that the idea of sitting down to meet a stranger is almost crazy to us.
I think just overall we all need to slow down, and learn more about each other, then our jobs, or our cell phones, or our cars. And whats the funniest is we sacrifice our time on this planet, our only lives, so we can have a bunch of things that are dead.
I actually can't take 10mins to sit down and meet someone new when I want, cause I have to go to my job, so I can buy objects for the rest of my life. I mean we have friends and family, and we DO have good meaningful times.
But it really does only seem like once or twice a year for the holidays. Or we need a "special occasion" for that stuff. We can't just do it on the fly anymore cause everyone needs 7 days notice to fit it in their schedules.
Thats what humanity has come to. We turn more to objects for entertainment then we turn to each other. And that doesn't make sense. Sure we go out and have fun still, but 90% of our time is not going out and having fun. Its spent being a robot if you ask me, and that just doesn't seem natural for something that has a heart.
Thats my deep thought for the day =]Last edited by Bojangles69; 09-08-2009 at 10:09 PM.

I've never seen a hurst followed by a brinks truck.
All of the good values Americans once had, are gone. From the 1900s to now this country has completely went down the drain.
