Is it a good time to join flight school?

Basically I have been wanting to fly since I was 10 years old.
Now I'm at the point in my life that I need to do something with my life but now I'm scared to join because of this crappy economy and lay offs.
Feel free to voice your opinions to steer me the right direction. Its just I'm so confused and not sure what to do right now.

Just do it man...more is lost through indecision than the wrong decision. If it's what you've been wanting to do your entire life, then there is NO reason you shouldn't do it.

yes! I have one year left for my commercial!

I was reading in the wall street journal just recently there is a real need for crop dusters which may be the route I will go once out of school

starting out they are paying between 60-100k/yr

btw, I love it so far

If it's what you want to do, then it's a good time.

I wanted to learn how to fly since I was a child, unfortunately my vision is too poor for the military to train me on flying and most schools require better vision than what I have. I'm gonna get Lasik later this year, and hopefully start taking some flying lessons next year. I don't care if it's only a 2 or 4 seater, if I can live up in the clouds for acouple of hours I'm happy.
