I'm a violent sleep walker
Well, I am going to share this with the group. I have been a violent sleep walker since I was about ten years old. When ever I get woken up in the middle of the night, whether it is a loud sound, or just someone walking in- I wake up and go fvcking ballistic. I get very violent, clench my fist and usually try to attack the person. Then, I fall right back asleep and have absolutely no recollection of this in the morning. After someone informs me of the incident in the morning, I kind of start to remember, very vaguely. This is really bad guys, lol.
When I was younger, about 10 or so, my mom tried waking me up for school and I flipped the fvck out screaming "what the hell are you doing here" as if she was a stranger or intuder or something, and then boom- fell right back asleep.
This happens about 1-2x a month. Last month, I got a new roommate and he came in on one of the first nights at like 4am and woke me up. I woke up, cocked my fist back, and got about two feet out of bed shouting "who the fvck are you, ill fvcking kill you." then BOOM turned around and fell back asleep.
It is kind of embarressing because every girl that I lay down with for the first time, I kind of have to explain to her my problem so she doesn't have me arrested in the middle of the night, lol.
Is there anyone else out there who suffers from something similar to this?

My sister used to freak me out when she was sleep walking when she was younger. She wasnt violent but could do things like homework, take showers, and play video games while asleep. She would say some crazy stuff too

^ Damn thats crazy. My episodes only last about 30 seconds. It baffles me how she could do homework in her sleep, it requires so much thinking. thanks for sharing though.

Have you actually attacked anyone yet? I had a friend who punched me in the neck who I knew about 7 years ago. I was 20 and we had been drinking out all night with girls. It happened that night after he fell asleep. And it was the same exact thing I was pissed in the morning and I thought he was lying when he said he didnt remember.
I'm sure this has to be more common then you think. Theres prob a name for it too Im just too lazy to look right now lol. Even when people arent drinking first.

Glad to know I am not the only one. No, I have not attacked anyone yet but it seems like it gets worse and more frequent every year. It happens when I am sober or drunk, doesn't really matter. I think it may have to do with being in such a deep sleep and having a dream, and when I wake up, I can't tell the dream from reality. I guess I dream about attacking people or something, lol.

Maybe a sleep clinic can help identify some of whats going on... They monitor the type of sleep you go into, such as REM, the amount of time you spend in the different phases of sleep, identify when your dreaming, blood pressure, if you have sleep apnea, stuff like that.
Once you know whats going on in you sleep, then you can try and decode the rest of it/the violent tendencies. A shrink might be a help too. Identify whats gonig on in your life/has gone on in your life and see why its coming out in your sleep.
I used to get night terrors. My night terrors = I'm asleep and dont know I'm dreaming, its as real as I am sitting here at the computer now. I am being chased and most of the time get caught and get stabbed, broken bones, and get killed. Mind you I'd feel all the stranglings, stabbings, etc. and wake up screaming or crying and very soar.
I went to a sleep clinic first, then went to a shrink. I might get a night terror maybe once or twice a year now. Where before I was getting them once a week give or take a little bit. I think my x-husband was the catalyst for the most part. Once I got rid of him, the terrors began decreasing with time. Ambien was also helpful.
Good luck
Chloe

I used to sleep walk when I was younger. I would walk down the streets in the middle of the night sometimes. I remember my mom telling me I used to just walk up to people in my sleep and stare at them till they woke up and woke me up. She thought I was possessed the way I stared lol
