I work in a prison and i have heard of these situation where inmate come to the resuce faster than your actual backup, but nothing to rely on. The guy was saying that he was a good officer and thats what probally saved his ass. If your a dick and are inconsistent with the inmates they will make your life hell. we always say to be firm fair and consistent with the inmates

One rescuer was black, one was white, one was hispanic, and one was asian. That was unity!!

There is a follow up here, the inmates talking about why they did it. I haven't watched it yet so can't say what it is like. Here ya go:

I liked the last comment the black inmate spoke. "Maybe one day we can be like Dogg and become bounty hunters."

I can you that as far as inmates we never cared if a guard was a robocop or a lazy dont care cop as long they were the same all the time. If you know what to expect it is easiest to plane your day. It was the inconsistant ones that everyone gave such a hard time.

Holy chit! Not sure if that'd be likely to happen in a prison. I don't think pre-trial inmates are as likely to be as structured if they're not doing hard time yet. In the prison I worked at for a year, I think a convict would have been shanked for completely taking sides with a C.O.

Fvck that.
Only time you ever attack a CO in prison is when you're ready to get every bone in your body broke then thrown in solitary till it all heals and you can't prove a thing.
I use to be more afraid of the COs then the inmates themselves when I was locked up.
