If you are gonna get a concealable compact 1911 nothing IMO is better than the ParaO- Nitehog (my favorite gun in the whole world to carry..) if you don't like the NITEHOG.. they have another version.. the WARTHOG.. Equally brilliant and beautifull.. nothing better than the feel of a compact with 10+1 rnds in it.. and especially with the reliability of the 1911 platform.. BEST GUN Imo...

It's down to what feels most comfortable for you. I too, found that the micro was too small but it was regarding the Glock 9mm series (model 17, 19 & 26). So I went with the Glock compact (the model 19) and it's perfect for me.

In the warmer months I find myself carrying my S&W 638 .38 spl though, smaller & balls-out reliable. Less ammo though, but at least I got something in case of an emergency.
It's all gravy bro. Everyone's welcome, and the points you guys were discussing are damn important stuff that people need to be aware about... Thanks for the respect.

*PUKE* !!! I hate Sig's.. very unreliable.. I broke a supposedly unbreakable firing pin after 200rnds through a Sig and vowed to never own another.. ever again.. why put my life in jeopardy.. yah it was probably a fluke and never happen again but.. I AM NOT WILLING RISK IT.. Ever again.. The worst part.. Sig said they would NOT replace it because they called it "operator error" Uhhh ok, never happened to me in over 100 guns, 10's of thousands of rounds fired since the age of 6.. DEFINITELY NOT operator error.. try manufacturer error ... whatever..

Regardless, the P238 only holds 6+1 rounds.. my Para holds 10+1

    LOL !!

But hey who am I to knock what you like for a concealable firearm. If you are comfortable with it bro.. that's all that matters.. for real.

    AND

If you happen to snap a firing pin .. just know that SIG won't replace it for you..

1911's are the best.. nothing better than a full size 1911, or a Beretta 92fs ... You can put both of those guns through hell and back, put a round in it, pull the trigger and it goes BANG!!

I am willing to bet if we went to the battlegrounds of Vietnam there would a 1911 laying in the ground somewhere.. waiting to be dug up.. brush that sucker off.. throw a new clip in.. load in a brand new .45acp.. pull the trigger and she'd work just as good as the day she was made...

yes, 9mm and .45 is still what our military uses. Much easier finding 40 cal especially when ammo gets dry

I know they use .45 and 9mm, but I have no problem finding either of those...it's just weird for someone to say they can't find 9mm ammo. I mean I know we've got wars going on but its not like guys are running around busting off thousands of rounds with their M9s every day.

I guess it might be in some parts of the country. I know for a fact I can go to a my local gun shop right now and buy as much 9mm as I want.

Speaking of weapons and different rounds...has anyone done the Glock .40 to .357 conversion?

Im impartial to the 9mm...I have owned one for an eternity now. For home protection out here in the sticks, bushmaster ar-15 (one shot one kill theory)
