As punishment for bad grades, a Georgia mother forced her 12-year-old son to kill his pet hamster with a hammer, police said.

Meriwether County Sheriff's Offi Lynn Geter, 38, is accused of forcing her 12-year-old son to kill his pet hamster for earning a bad grade, according to Steve Whitlock, Meriwether County sheriff.
.The day after he was forced to kill his pet, the child told his teacher, Meriwether County Sheriff Steve Whitlock told the AJC Thursday evening.

The teacher reported the incident to DFCS authorities, who contacted police, Whitlock said. The pet's death allegedly took place at the family's Warm Springs home.

On Friday, 38-year-old Lynn Middlebrooks Geter was arrested, Whitlock said. Geter faces one charge each of animal cruelty, child cruelty and battery.

Geter remained in the Meriwether County jail Thursday evening, Whitlock said. Meriwether County is located about 90 minutes southwest of Atlanta.

Geter's husband, Brad Geter, decline to comment on the incident when reached by phone Friday evening.

That is pretty bad, I use to get my ass wooped and grounded from the nintendo until my grades improved.

If i ever got bad grades in school my parents would say as long as i tried my best it was ok. Which is why i'm such a miserable failure today, i wish they had beaten the shit out of me for everything under an A+

yep i got those to^^^^^^^ except i lost my playstation instead

but that was only primary school

high school thye let me do as i felt, they just said its your life youll screw up if you dont do well lol

My dad hadnt ever seen any of my report cards. Always begged my mom not to tell him I recieved one. Dont think he realised I got them.

But in primary school my mom made me sit in my teachers classroom after school everyday for 2 years to do my homework and study. Great improvement. If only I did that throughout highschool...
