TV Series: The Pacific

I must say I am a huge fan of war movies/ War TV shows.

I really enjoyed Band of Brothers, Black Hawk Down is one of my favorite movies of all time, Saving Private Ryan, Sniper, Rambo's etc. I love them all.(except for a few, the one where owen wilson crahes his plane and was running around was pretty lame.)

After watching the first 2 episodes of the pacific, I had already begun to lose interest. After watching the 3rd episode last night I have written off this TV show and will no longer be watching it.

I think Tom Hanks and Speilburg tried to do way to much with this show and I feel that they missed the mark.

Its sad because I felt this show had so much potential and I was looking forward to it for some time. i can tell that they spent tons of money making this series and its a shame the way it turned out.)

I agree. After Band of Brothers came out in 2001 I heard they where going to make a sequel about the pacific. Nine years later and it's boring as hell.

I like it a lot. I will have to see how it develops to compare it to band of brothers however I doubt it will be as good as band of brothers.

Myself as a Former Marine Wannabe, I always enjoy War movies, tv shows and docs. So far I'm sold on pacific.

One problem with the show I found is that because the actors in the show are all nobodies(imo) It is way to hard for me to follow all of the different stories that are developing. episode 1 was pretty awesome, ep 2 was ok, I watched 15 min of ep 3 the fast forwarded through the rest, looked like crap, there are too many other good movies and shows for me to waste my time on.


I was just personally disappointed in this series.
It was like Quantum of Solace, I could not wait to see that movie. When I did I was soooo upset .
