Dogs good with cats
Hey guys, just wanted a little input. Obviously i coulda just searched this but id rather hear from people who have a dog and a cat. The question is what dogs get along best with cats. Already have a cat and looking to get a dog. And just want them both to get along.

they all do
if you get a pup it will grow up to get a long well with cats
most adult dogs even quickly adapt to cats in my experience

the only exeption I can think of is if you adopt a greyhound...since they are trained to chase the rabbit and are only socialized with other greyhounds
even then most of them will get along fine with cats
usually the adoption agencies try putting a cat in front of it and see what it does and sometimes it doesn't go well.
but if you get a puppy they'll get along fine...one of my friends has the meanest chow chow known to man and it loves the cats.
Most dogs won't even pay attention to the fact there is a cat in the house. And cats are good at getting away. I have never known anybody who's had a problem.
Good luck with the dog.

i have a cat and a wiener dog. They play all the time and sleep together.
my friend has a pit and a rot and a cat. They all get along
like kratos said its a pup its gonna learn to love it. The cat may take a little time to get used to it.

Any dog can get along with a cat. It's just a matter of maintaining dominance over the dog.

As long as they are inside it's fine but once outside the rules change.
We had a lab. He grew up with cats. Seemed great with them. One day another dog went chasing after one of the outside cats. The lab took of with the other dog right after the cat. The cat jumped up on a fence, the lab jumped up and grabbed it. Cat died almost instantly due to internal hemorrhaging.
The lab looked at the cat after like WTF just happened. It's all instinct.
