80's movie but dont know name

ok. there are a few movies i saw back in the day that i dont know the name of. hopefully one of you remember this.

there was a movie about gang wars. there was a building much like the nabisco buildings where it looks silos connected. in the middle of nowhere. a black guy cool cat was giving the new guy the situation. the black guy had a skateboard connected to his leg or something. later one there were people fighting with guns.

heres another movie about gang wars. there was a group of bad asses. different assortments of people. one guy had a mohawk. after some fighting someone they looked up to was killed. one of the guys in the gang could hardly read. he read an article at a gang fight scene and it lead them to the enemy. they went to the bad guy place to fight them. one of the buildings the bad guys were in had a spinning turret guard tower on the roof.

hopefully one of you knows what cool 80's movies these were. some of the descriptions could be off a little. it was a long time ago.

no it wasnt the warriors. that was a sweet movie though. once i saw a botton up warriors shirt.

as far as cheaply made movies. hell its hard to remember. i would say for their time they were good but not the movies that mom watched with her kids.
