After having watched the game between Germany and England I started to think...:

"Forgetting for a moment the Roman Empire which anyway took place in another time in history, The English have been ruling the world since centuries from South to North and from East to West. Even though at present time their economy sucks, they are still there with their own value (£), their Monarchy, their right-drive...
You may like or dislike them, personal opinions, but everyone must accept the fact they have a history on their shoulders and their strong and brave temperament led them to colonize the entire planet."

Why the hell they are unable, as a national soccer team, to succeed in a sport they invented?

Apply that to tennis and Rugby as well. F 1 is about the only sport we have pretty good success in. For everything else, we're wimps, that is all that is to be said about it.

the world is a more singular place these days.

Theres more exposure across the world..... it doesn't matter anymore where a sport was invented..... theres talent EVERYWHERE and as long as said talen has access to coaching and the right tools..... they'll develop

The wolf at the top of the mountain is not as hungry as the one climbing.
Just a guess, maybe being the top for those many years have taken the hunger out of the mentality to strive???
Their reason for poor results in football though I think is a result of too much public pressure to suceed. Their press are ruthless. Also as I have said before their ego's are too big.

gerard and lampard wipe each other out, rooney is still injured, half our back for have got women problems !!! and out manager is foriegn !!! thats why england were shit this year !!!

back in the day we had the chance, when we had players like beckam, there was more passion and gritty determination to win the game, nowadays footballers just care about how much ££££ they got in there back pocket, if they lose they dont give a ****, there still millionaires !!!

tht shouldnt make a diff. i agree on the millionaire statement though, bunch of overpaid a'holes!
