Anybody cook with a slow cooker?
I don't have time to make food cause i'm a full time student who works full time too and so I'm thinking of using my parents slow cooker.
there are lots of good recipes and videos online of how to perfect the art of slow cooking
I think i'm just gonna go simple and do a beef roast with some potatoes and carrots and other veggies, and some sort of broth (but don't know what kind).
You can do philly cheese steaks, beef stews and all sorts of chilis and stuff
yeaaaaa
anybody else love their slow cooker?

Roasts are good in them but you need to find a low sodium broth. When ever im visiting the family and they cook a roast in that thing, its like eating the salt shaker

Good to know, thanks for sharing. It's kinda like the same with instant oatmeal. too much flavoring in the packet unless you get low-sugar
damn how do you do ribs? please explain. Do they still get so tender that they melt in your mouth?
I shall try this. I mean hell, I'll throw the bacon in there too.
on another note, i just stood in target talking with a woman about them for 45minutes. i also did my homework and the best one on the market right now is the Hamilton Beach one

I think what's important in a slow cooker is its ability to be programmable and able to turn on and off as you need. I'm a busy student with a full time job and i definitely don't have time to run home and turn the damn thing off.
what kinda of broth should i throw in there if i'm making a beef roast?
the hamilton pictured above is worth about 50

I just threw ribs in there..... some beef broth..... mixed in a bunch of BBQ sauce..... potatos..... carrots.....
the whole house smelt like a fart (I was cooking it over night) - I woke up around 4am and smelt it..... I thought my wife farted LOLOLOL I was sooo grossed out until I went to the kitchen to get water and the smell was stronger. I got back into the bedroom and she asked me if I shit my pants LOLOLOL!

Slow cookers are amazing... throw some food in it, turn the knob, go to work, come home, and you have a wicked meal waiting for you. Attach a fleshlight to it and you will never need a woman again

so my cooker has an Auto function. I'm not sure what it does
i've read online that it starts it out on high then turns to low once boil occurs (which i hear is optimal), and some state that it does that, then turns it off once its done?
i couldn't find a manual for this model online anywhere so i'm just curious what you guys think

I like throwing a chicken, an onion, and a few carrots in mine. A little splash of red wine, a cup of water and you are set.
