My last longterm gf OD'd on them and a cocktail of other drugs and is now a half brain dead paraplegic in a nursing home. Just food for thought.

In all seriousness if you can't kick them you could try AA. It depends on how big the city you live in is. If its a small place there won't be any good groups. If its a medium sized place to a big city size there will be many groups and likely a young peoples group with a lot of addicts. This group will be rife with hookers, strippers and dope dealers, most of them reformed from their previous lives. If its a good group then they can help you kick things as they will know how to kick hard drugs like heroin.

I wouldn't try to quit cold turkey, depending on the dose. Slowly ween yourself down but eventually you will have to stop taking them and face a certain amount of discomfort.

I was taken off of Kpins after 2 years of 3mg/day. I weened down but still felt like hell for about 3 weeks.

ya kpins are kinda alike. man i was takin up to ten mg's at a time . the main issue is it leads to other drugs/ bad decisions, i can train the day after i take them even though it's still in my system. i probably should come off slowely for a week maybe? i just want to kick it really bad but maybe i should slowely take lower dose for a few times then stop???

Make sure you TAPER off them if you are on anything but a low daily dose. Abrupt alcohol and abrupt benzodiazapine withdraws and the only 2 that can KILL YOU. Not heroin withdrawls, not coke, etc....

So if your on 1 mg/day no prob, if your on 5mg/day you better slowly TAPER off of them. Years back I built up a very high tolerance to benzo's, I was eating them like tic tac's. Ativan was my benzo of choice as it is quick acting, but I think I got as high as like 15-20 or more mg per day.

It was not EASY, but neither was quitting 2 packs/day of cigs, or dropping from 300lbs to 215lbs, or being beaten and screamed at and neglected by my parents when I was a little kid, etc, etc, etc.

Use to be addicted to Alprazolam as well. Gone up to taking 36 2mg's White GG249's in 10 minutes. Very scary times and a scary drug if abused. Been addicted to a few others but the worst were the 4bars.

**** that, you can drop them dude, its all in ur head. If you wanna quit you can quit, not like you need methadone or anything. Street drugs are for ****ing scumbags. They're for weak minded people who dont give a shit about things like bills, kids, taking vacations, staying in school. Drop them with the quickness man, ur life will improve vastly!!

Go and discuss the issue with a physician. They can give you the best advice.

I would not suggest going cold-turkey. If you've been addicted to prescription medications for 7 years, without stopping, you aren't going to be able to "stop" per-say.

The withdrawal symptoms off benzodiazepine can be so severe that chances are you would relapse almost immediately.

During the past 7 years have you been hooked on semi-synthetic opioids for intervals? what about sedative-hypnotics? or have you always been stuck on the benzos?
