RIP George Steinbrenner
Im not a Yankee fan (more like a Yankee hater) but I have to show respect to one hell of a business man. Say what you want about him and the Yankee organization but the guy was commited to winning and also donated alot of money to some very good causes. He bought the Yankees in 1973 for $8.7 million and it is now worth an estimated $1.6 billion. Not a bad investment. RIP George.

I'm a yankee fan..... pretty big one too..... he'll definately be missed. He donated a lot of money to families of dying children..... paid their hospital bills. Not to mention all the charities and organizations he's donated money to.....

Yeah I never knew alot of that stuff until today. Seemed like he definitely had a big heart for kids. I live in the Tampa area and its been on the news all day about his donations to childrens hospitals and Boys and Girls Clubs in the area. I have a newfound respect for the guy.
