Viva Las Vegas.... Locals: Hook up some Advice!
How's it going boys....
I'm going to be heading down to Vegas for 5 days with the girlfriend, and my other buddy and his girlfriend.
Just wondering if you guys had any suggestions on things to do?!
Definitely heading to the Pawn Stars place. Got a diamond that I'm going to try and pawn! couldn't be more excited. Hopefully I get on the show!!! haha.
Definitely want to go on that crazy roller coaster @ NYNY.... and probably a Cirque show... not too sure which one just yet.
In terms of clubs and all that... XS, Surrender (encore), The bank (sundays) are all really killer. We're definitely going to be going out and celebrating. The girl is competing right before this trip... so this is our vacation... Because she's definitely going to pull in a 1st **knock on wood** lol.
Going to be there a Thursday - Tuesday.
Also... where should I be working out guys?! I think we can get gym passes at our hotel, but it's like $25/day.... is there a better option? or should I just stick to the resort gyms?!
I want to see a magic show for sure. I wanted David Copperfield, but I believe he is not in town during our stay!.... I can't stand Chris Angel... so that's not even and option what a loser...!
We are also considering going on a helicopter ride of the Grand Canyon... Why not right? were only in Nevada... well... like never.
Oh yeah! what's a good decent restaurant to go to for dinner? Not crazy expensive... maybe like Italian food.. or Greek or something! thinking like 150 - 200$ for 2 people...
But yeah... any suggestions are welcome boys... strip clubs/pool-parties... give me the down-low!
Thanks in advance bros.

Check out the water acrobatics show at the Wynn. It was awesome.
Coyote ugly is an awesome place at nyny. The bartenders make it fun. The brunette that was on the mic when I was there had a bangin body too.

Water acrobatics? hmmm, yah, that could be cool.
Did you go to any strip clubs?! We'd be heading with girls so we don't want anywhere like grimy or trashy... what's a half decent one in town? (none of those stupid topless shows @ the hotels..!)
And I'm hearing about all these pool parties too. lol... Any advice on that?

BTW.... stating it right now... if I get on the pawn stars show... I'm going to literally take my shirt off and do a pose-down on camera for AR.
A little national publicity couldn't hurt! haha.
...... I'll bring a spoon.

We didn't go to the strip clubs so I can't really help there. Coyote is in now way trashy or grimy. My girl loved it.
All the pools close between 6 - 6:30 pm every night. I know on Sundays there's a pool party at rehab that is supposed to be insane but we got in late on a Sunday and didn't make it.
I went to the gold and silver pawnshop (pawnstars). They weren't taping but Rick and the old man were there. They have a section roped off that blocks you from going up to the counter where the old mans desk is unless you are buying coins or selling something. Lmao at the spoon
You have to check out the freemont street experience. It's the old downtown Vegas. Golden nugget and all that. Go at night tho or it's nothing special.

Cool man... I'll definitely check out the Coyote then.
6:00pm should be fine for pools closing.. it's going to be like 104-F when we're down there probably! lol. I don't know how long I'll manage to stay out there.
Man... I'm so stoked to bargain with old man and rick. I have a diamond... they'll have to talk to me. lol. I've been thinking about how I'm going to bargain for a while... gotta start high and remain firm... then give a little flexibility towards the end.. that's what I'm thinking.

haha... dude there's no way they actually let that guy negotiate prices...
I feel like when he's the head negotiator on the show, it's just like a set-up...
I mean seriously.. he's like mentally challenged! you couldn't leave him responsible for money!

There's a great Japanese restaurant called Osaka's, which is on W. Sahara about 2 miles or so west of the strip. Excellent food!
Might check out Mandalay Bay for the adult pool.
Bellagio has the best buffet IMO, but you'll pay a premium for it too. Surprised they're charging you that much for the gym option at the hotel.
You guys should hit the Green Door! (also on Sahara, closer to the strip) What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?

Yeah I'm sure it's set up with him but it's funny.
There was a piece of bone in the case that had a tag on it that said chum lee bought it as a dinosaur tooth lol. Someone prolly still paid the $200 for it tho.
-

Also there's a buffet pass you can get for like $40. It's all you can eat in 24 hours and it's good at like 5 of the strip casinos.
Are you into adrenaline and insane stunts?
You can bungee jump off the top of the stratosphere now.

I can't handle Japanese bro.. But thanks anyways. You got any suggestions on Italian?? Greek??
Sounds good on the buffet/MB... definitely try and check them out.
I've heard/read that the Greed Door is really gross! Full of 40-50 yr/old men wanking off. ahhhh!! ewww.
Oh what! What is that buffet pass called? that sounds awesome! I've heard buffets are really expensive there. Definitely going to be bulking season at those bad boys
And yes I am into that stuff! I haven't bungee jumped off a building in a couple of years now. I did it off the tallest building in Auckland, NZ. It was awesome!
What other "stunt" sort of stuff can you do there..
OH, that reminds me!! I want to go to that gun range where you can rent like any weapon. I'm not too sure what it's called. Crazy stoked to shoot some assault weapons and stuff. lol.
Looks cool man... Probably going to do the cirque du soleil route.
... Thanks for all the advice boys, keep it coming!

There's indoor skydiving, actual skydiving over the canyon, bungee jumping into the canyon. You'll see advertisements for all of it. I tried to go with cirque but wanted to see "O" and it was sold out. Le reve is a cirque style show so it worked out for me.
If you google Vegas coupons you can find all sorts of buffet deals and printable coupons. I'll try to find dome info on the buffet pass.

Caesars Palace, Rio, Harrah's, the Flamingo, Paris Las Vegas, Imperial Palace and Planet Hollywood. The $40 pass is good at all seven hotels for a 24-hour period.
You can buy it at any of these hotels. If you bullshit with the dealers they'll give you a free buffet sometimes too.

Awesome man.. I'll definitely try and find some info on that indoor sky-diving and stuff.. sounds very cool..
That pass sounds awesome. All day food.. This is going to be fun. lol.
Looks perfect man. I liked all the dishes, I'm definitely going to head there. Just going to have to figure out where it lies in relation to the strip (we're @ the MGM.)
Do you know the name of that gun range that will rent you like any weapon?? lol. I've seen it on TV.. but can't recall the name..

I've heard it's really cool on Sunday's? like a wild pool party??
I'm stoked about wet republic. I'm staying at the MGM so very conveniently located, lol.
Coming mid August from a Thursday - Tuesday.
How much does it cost for like a 5 day membership at 24 hour fitness? or how much is drop in? are there any that are close to the strip?

I thought the funniest shit was walking down the sidewalk and all the mexicans slapping those dial-a-whore cards and trying to get you to take one.

yeah the Rehab at Hard Rock pool is so packed and you have to wait in line for hours.
Get ready to spend $10 a beer and $14-$20 per drink at any pool or club. Mandalay Bay has some great Chefs and Resturants, as do all of the Large Casinos. Wet Republic is better than Rehab Pool.

Also House of Blues @ Mandalay Bay has great concerts all the time and the Joint @ the Hard Rock Just check out their websites. Cirque are over priced if you ask me.

Get to the pool early. I think Wet Republic is like $100 per chair $500 per bed and $2000-$5000 per cabana

really? that sucks about the hard rock. I can't handle line-ups.
probably the most impatient person ever
i'll probably head to wet republic on the first day were there. just get loaded. lol.
yeah, i've heard prices are pretty extreme. Albeit, where I currently live, drinks in DT clubs are 10$ for a beer and like 20+ for any mixed drink. Brutal...
I was thinking we would probably be getting our pre-sip on pretty hard. Do you know if there are any well priced liquor stores near the strip?? or is everything just a rip off in Vegas?
Thanks for all the help so far guys..

If your takin a taxi, just tell him to go to Lees Liquor. They are everywhere. All the Hotels sell liquor, but ive never bought. Probably expensive. Not much on the strip though. Wet Republic goes off all week. Lots of good DJ's and lots to look at. Even though your girl probably blows them all away. Judging from the pic I saw a while back.
Everything is just so damn expensive on the strip.
If you want to break your diet. There is a resturant at the Imperial Palace(on the strip) across the street from Ceasars by Harrahs called Hash House a Go Go that has the most ridiculus breakfast. The plates are huge but ****ing delicious. Fried chicken and waffles? Everything is always very fresh.

Just read first post only
I just opened my newest copy of "FLEX" with Dorian Yates on the cover.
Theres ~6 page spread at the end full of mini articles about strip clubs and casinos and shit in las vegas. I didn't really read it yet but if i was going to vegas I would actually pay newstand price to get this issue.

Lee's Liquor? Sweeet, sounds good.
I've got another question! My friend told me that his taxi driver totally tried to f*ck him, and tried to take him on lik e a $40-45 ride from the airport to the strip, and my buddy got in a pretty bad altercation with him...
^^ Do you know what route I should request that would be the fastest, from the airport to the MGM, and that will pass a Lee's Liqor on the way!
Man all your advice is so clutch right now! I've literally got a million questions for you.
The Imperial Palace is a little further down the strip... I persume that's considered more the central strip? But it sounds delicious man, might have to take a gander down that way!
Thanks for the kind words on the g/f ..... she'll probably be scaring away most people though... this vacation is immediately post-comp for her... she is going to be shredded like no other broad at that pool for the first couple of days!
I think most guys get a tad bit intimidated by her abs popping out further then their's are, lol!
Sweet man, I'm going to go pick it up today. Thanks for the heads up

I don't think we are going to be renting a car for the trip!
We definitely don't have it organized yet, so I doubt we will.
I think the hoover dam would be very cool to check out... definitely for next time.
.. On a side note, where the hell are all the vegas locals! lol... I swear I see so many people with it set as their location. Speak up people!

Regarding the taxis ... Do be careful, I know some people that also got scammed by a driver who figured they didn't know any better.
The MGM is as close as they get to the airport. There's a main road directly to the airport off of Tropicana. When you depart the airport you should go directly to Tropicana, turn left (towards Las Vegas Blvd.) and the MGM is probably less than a mile away on the corner of Tropicana & LV Blvd. If you find yourself on I-15, then the taxi driver has screwed you. Shouldn't take but 5 or 10 minutes if he takes you the way I mentioned.
